Upside-Down* Puddings: V4 cup butter, ^2 cup sugar, 1 egg, % cup flour, 2 tsp. bak. pdr., % tsp. salt, 4Jbsp. milk, 1 tbsp, margar­ ine, 1 tbsp, dark corn syrup. Melt margarine and syrup, cook two min. Pour in greased custard fruit, which ha? been well drains ed, in the syrup. Cream the but­ ter and sugar. Beat in -egg. Grad^ ually add sifted dry ingredients alternatel with milk. Bake 35 min. in hot. , Lemon __ _____ cups bread. cubes, 1 cup Y4 cup lembn juice, 2 egg arated, 2 tbsp, grated rind, third cup shortening, % ciif^of sugar. Soak bread in water* le- . mon juice dnd rind. Cream short; ening,’ sugar and egg yolks. Fold in. bread. Pour into greased cas­ serole. Bake 35 min. in moderate oven. Remove from qven, cover ~ | withTinermgUe™M^ke-"Withr"ther ! egg whites, Vi clip, sugar, ¥4 tsp. [salt. Bake until meringue is nice­ ly brown. I Chocolate* Squares: Crush 20 | graham crackers fine. Line 8*inch I square pan With half of the crumbs. Cream ¥2. cup. margar­ ine, With 2 cups powdered sugar. Beat iri 3 eggs, one at a time. Beat in 3 squares melted chocd^ late but cobjed Slightly* Stir in . 1. cup chopped nuts, l\fsp. van­ illa. Spread mixture in pan: and Sprinkle remaining crumbs over top. Chill in the refrigerator over night. ■ *. - Molasses Brownies: One . and ’ one-third cups"(15 oz. can) sweet- ened ; condensed milk; dash of , -tymlasses/ 2~cup? gra-f ■ ham cracker crumbs, 1 cup chop-, I ped nut meats, 1 top; vanilla* Mix condensed mdk, salt, mOL asses, graham cracker crumbs, hut meats and vpiilla. .Blend thoroughly. Spread mixture in 8 by. 1^Jnch pan*- greased and lined Tudth’ oven.
