“COUNTRY CHRISTMAS”
THE DUCKNOW SENTINEL,' LUCKNOW, ONTARIO
L_______1___________-2_________;_______;.............................. ,..■■■ .......I......■..i.sa.i......T..-"-—.
by Dean MacLeod
O AVs Christmas in the country :
And all the fields are still,
And all the flocks and all the herds
Are gathered from the hill<-
They’re sheltered in the stable
And the snow, is like a blanket
With soft* and fleecy fold.
And beneath each spreading' rooftree
There’s something new and glad,
The happiness of childhood
Comes back to Mum and Dad. f
O there’s something abo££ Christmas
That belongs to country folk,
The story of the shepherds,
The words the angels spoke.
The stable and “the manger
Are hallowed ever more
Because He was Immanuel,
The Child that Mary bore.

ed* ‘
There is little political chatter
developments may result is any
body’s guess. Reeve S. E. Robert
son is willing td carry on in this
office and is, not likely to be op
posed. Councillor S. B, Btothers
is regarded as a future reeveship
contender. ; \
, The question seems to be
whether or not all council mem
bers will stand for re-election to
the Board. ,
. The three retiring members of
the Public School Board are
Lloyd Ashton, Charles Webster
and Mac MacLennan. All are el
igible for re&election and nothing,
to the contrary have we heard
as to their qualifying again. ;
Some , interesting reports of'
village arid school affairs will be;
heard at Monday’s meeting and
ratepayers have a duty and an
obligation to attend this meeting.
