LUCKNOW, ONTARIO By-Law Nd. , 1$53 OF THE CORPORATION of the Township of WEST WAWANOSH A By-law authorizing the bor­ rowing of Nine Thousand Dollars ($9F000.00) upon, debentures for a grant for the Wjngham Public Hospital. WHEREAS it is expedient to borrow, for the purpose of grant- ink the Wingham Public Hospital for building additions thereto a -sim^ not^excOeding-Nine Thods^ and ‘Dollars ($9,000.00) upon the credit-bf the Corporatipn’o^’tfe* Township' of West Wawanosh to issue debentures therefor beating interest ^t the rate of five (^%) per centum per annum payable annually and to provide for the expenses incidental to the nego­ tiation and sale of such deben­ tures; AND WHEREAS it is expedient to make the principal of the said debt re payable in annual instal­ ments during the period of ten years ne?d after the date of issue of suchZ debentures - of such amount respectively /that, with the interest \ in, respect of the debt, the ’aggregate amount pay­ able, for principal and interest in each year shall be as nearly as possible the sum namely,' $1,165.64; . The funeral service was held on Friday conducted by Rev. H. J. Snell of James St/ L Uriited ChUrch. Interment was in Exeter Cemetery. ' “A. E.” Buswell, as he was well and favorably known here, yv^s 4 former Lucknow merchant. He was in the dry goods business here, and later opened a men’s furnishing store. He left Lucknow some 18 years ago to return to Exeter/ where he managed, the shoe department in the Jones and h May'store^untiL-1947-)L-when—he- and his son Ted, who had served in the R.^.A.F., opened a wall­ paper and footwear store. y- Mr. Buswell was born at Cen- . tralia. He went to Saskatchewan as -a young man,~~'and afler re- turning from the West, eritered business in Lucknow. He was a faithfui .member of the United Church, and a, former Sunday Schoor superintendent. He also served for a term on the Village Council. At Exeter Mr. Buswell con­ tinued his churqh interest and activities and w$s also secretary of the Masonic Lodge. / He is survived by his wife, formerly Gertrude Harvey; one son, Ted; and two. daughters, Mrs. A. For the purpose aforesaid the Corporation-shalL-Mjor-row— upoh- the credit of the Corporation a sum not exceeding Nine thousand, dollars ($9,000.00) and shall issue debentures therefor in sums of not less than $100.00 each? Each debenture shall bear interest at. the rate of five per centum (5%.) per annum payable annually and shall have coupons, attached thereto for the payr^ent of such interest. ' i 2. All the debentures shall bear the same date, shall be issued at _one time—and—within—two—years after the day of which this By- Law is passed, may bear any date within such two years and shall be made payable in annualv instal­ ments during the period of ten -yeaFS-next-after-the-date-of-issue- thereof, and the respective amount’s of principal and- interest payable in each of such years shall be the amounts _so designat­ ed in Schedule “A” hereto annex­ ed. 3. The debentures shall be pay^ able as to both principal and in­ terest in lawful money of Canada and may be made . payable >at such place or places in Canada as shall be^ designated thereon, y- 4. The said debentures shall be sealed with the^Seal of the Cor­ poration, and signed by the head of the Council) or by some other Person authorized by by-law to sign the same, and by the Treas­ urer.
