•Miss Brophy gave some high
lights of radio and television.
During her remarks she told us i
that Wingham started with five employees and now has 29, and I
that she has enjoyed working
among and for the women of
Western Ontario through CKNXl
Concerning television she said we
lag behind the U.S. in that they
expect to have 5,000 TV stations
by 1955 whereas /we may expect three by the end Of this^ year. ’
She said it costs* four times as
much to advertise over television
than radio. She does not fhink
television will ever take the place j
of radio in our homes. She invit-

and see how it operates. Miss
Brophy was presented with a
small gift of appreciation after
which the Queen closed an in
teresting meeting.
