THAT, during the holidays we missed making note of Sam Durnin’s 89th birthday, which he observed on August 25th. THAT Hedley*s<ButCher Shop is closed for the time being. Nick has been off work, for a time -with a heart condition. He suf­ fered a setback last week and / will have to take it easy for a month or so yet. DR. NORMAN WRIGHT Dr. Norman Wright passed away in. hospital in Saskatoon after a brienilness. He was the 1 husband of Dr. M. Anna Nichol­ son, formerly of the Lucknow district. Dr. Wright was born in Erig- Jand^He^ok^is_de^reejLn_yeb_ erinary science 7 at the Ontario. Veterinary College and later did post graduate work at Cambridge University and Michigan -State College. For many years he was a lecturer and a professor of vet­ erinary science at the University of Saskatchewan. He wrote many articles on veterinary surgery arid was the author of a book on animal diseases written with Prof. A. H. Ewen of the department of animal husbandry. During the First Great War Dr. Wright went to Britain in charge of a group of horses, the gift from Saskatchewan to the British gov­ ernment. He enlisted in, the. Im-: perial army and served with the Veterinary Corps in Mesopotamia, and India with the rank of jnajon Dr. Wright ahd his /wife spent a year in the West Indies and last] -j^r^ret-ur-ned—to^live—in—Suthe-T-J landj. a suburb of Saskatoon. He is survived by his wife, Dr. M. Anna Nicholson, and one sis- Father Passes Adam Lippert,, age 65, died re­ cently at his home near Rivers- dale. He is survived by, his wid­ ow- seven daughters and 5 sons. Jerome Lippert of the Lucknpw district is a son. lan Wilson., A reception was held at Car- low Hall,- after which the young couple left on a wedding trip to Northern—Ontarior-^hey—will-re— side at Westfield.
