McCHARLES RETIRES FROM PHONE COMMISSION A year of progress was noted atthe annual meeting of the Huron-Kinloss Telephone System held in Ripley. In the report of the secretary it was noted an in­ crease in the number of tele­ phones and although the system has " done considerable improve­ ment work they had been able to end the year with* a stirplus. During the year the Lucknow and Kinloss Telephone System had been taken over and efforts, were Ibeing made to bring all phases of . the system into line, with the H and K. After serving on the commis­ sion for a number of years Oliver McCharles tendered his resigna­ tion on the commission and was replaced by Murray Campbell.
