WAYNE NEAL KENNEDY Wayne Neal Kennedy passed away at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Southampton on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011. He was in his 67th year. He was the beloved husband of Gerdina (Duizer) and beloved father of David, Beverly and Tracy, all of Allenford, Crystal and Wes and Eric and Lori of Vanastra. Wayne was the proud grandpa of six grandchildren and the brother of Brenda Brooks, Sharee Bartliff and Mark Kennedy. At Wayne’s request there was no funeral service. The family received friends at the Paul H. Eagleson Funeral Home in Tara on Monday, Aug. 15. If so desired, donations to the Cancer Society, Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy. PEARL MASON Mrs. Pearl Mason of Londesborough passed away suddenly at her residence on Monday, Aug. 15, 2011. She was in her 77th year. Pearl was the beloved wife of the late Albert “Pat” Mason (2006). She was the loving mother and mother- in-law of Doreen and Doug Hamilton of Belgrave, Faye Hamilton and friend Mike Dermody of Palmerston, Judy and Greg Cook of Belgrave, Joan and Doug Adrian of Winthrop, Rose and Joey Feeney of Egmondville and Ron and Jen Mason of Vanastra. Pearl was the dear grandmother of 12 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Alma Huston of Kincardine, Harold Culbert of Dungannon, Joyce Tait of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Doreen and Don McNeil of St. Thomas. Pearl was predeceased by her son John Mason and by grandson Robbie in infancy. Friends were received at the Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd., Blyth Visitation Centre, 407 Queen St., Blyth on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. Cremation with interment of ashes at Blyth Union Cemetery will be at a later date. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Local playwright Paul Ciufo who wrote Reverend Jonah, A Killing Snow and Narcisse will be sharing his writing process on Sept. 1. The workshop will be held at the Blyth Memorial Hall at 4 p.m. and is free of charge. Ciufo is well know locally, as well as internationally, in the theatre world. He was nominated in 2008 for the Governor General’s Literary Award for Drama for Reverend Jonah. Previously, Blyth Festival’s playwright-in-residence Marion deVries offered a workshop.
