Hold me up!
(Henry Law, “Family Prayers”)
Almighty Father, Conscious of our own weakness, and trusting only in Your grace and
power — we beseech You this day to increase and multiply Your mercy upon us.
We are going forth to tread on slippery ground — may You uphold us.
Our march is through a land of which Satan is the prince — may You protect us.
Snares at each turn await our steps — may You guide us.
We look around — and fear. We look up to You — and take courage. By Your grace
alone can we stand. If Your grace should fail us — instantly we fall. Our earnest prayer
is, “Hold me up — and I shall be safe!”Psalm 119:117

We have had a very hot week. It
has been very hard to keep cool. We
broke a record on Thursday, July 21
with temperatures making the mid-
30s and the next week looks just as
hot, so take care and stay out of the
sun and stay cool.
There is a reunion being planned
for #1 Morris Township School for
next year on June 30, 2012 at the
Blyth Lions Park.
The committee is looking for

NEWS
FROM BLYTH
Ushering at Blyth United Church
on Sunday, July 24 were Cliff Snell
and Joann MacDonald. Floyd
Herman was music director. The
congregation welcomed members of
the Londesborough and Auburn
United churches to share their
service with them in the cool of the
basement auditorium.
The call to worship was the
singing of “Holy Spirit Come”
followed by the prayer of approach.
Rev. Clark drew everyone’s
attention to the announcements in
the bulletin with special attention
that Camp Menesetung is
sponsoring a pancake breakfast with
all the fixings on Sunday, Aug. 14
from 8 a.m. to noon at a cost of $7
per adult and $3 for children aged
six to 10 and children five and under
are free.
The first hymn, “Shall We Gather
at the River” was sung. The scripture
reading was from 1 Kings 3: 5-12
followed by the “Hallelujah”
response.
Rev. Clark’s message to the
congregation was “Actions Speak
Loud Than Wisdom”. Wisdom with
no action is only an opinion.
Wisdom has no power without
actions. Many of us have wisdom
but don’t act on it.
Solomon was considered the
wisest man of his time. Solomon
asked God for help to rule his
people. First Solomon thanked God
for his blessings and then asked him
for guidance. God’s answer was,
“What do you need?” Solomon was

to all for another great season. It was our pleasure to serve you and we
hope your plants are looking good.
We’re officially closing for the season
August 1, 2011.
If you have an event coming up and need
some planters or baskets, or would like
some perennials after that date give us a call
and we’ll be happy
to make some arrangements.
The key to great container gardens and baskets is regular fertilizing, so
come on over for that if you’re running low.
Mulch, stone and soils still available too.
All remaining
