HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Citizen, 2011-07-21, Page 19THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, JULY 21, 2011. PAGE 19. Londesborough welcomes several new familiesContinued from page 10hip. They will certainly have similarsituations to talk about. However
this may be carrying togetherness to
the extreme.
When ‘for sale’ signs go up in
small communities such as ours
concern for our future becomes
uppermost. There has been a great
deal of activity in the housing
component of Londesborough inrecent months and I felt it was timeto bring readers up to date. You will
be pleased to learn the people who
have left have been replaced
which is good news for
Londesborough.
The apartment above the former
general store and post office, where
Tom and Diane lived, is now home
to Tim Lowey and daughters. Thefamily lived on the 13th of Hullettpreviously and the girls continue to
attend Hullett Central school. Tim
works for Bev Hill of Varna. Kitty
corner to the store, the living
quarters above the former restaurant
are home to Andrew and Ashley
Martin and their two small
daughters. Ashley is another of Tim
Lowey’s daughters and Andrewworks for Hensall Co-operative inLondesborough. They come from
Egmondville. Frank and Dorothy
Johnston, residents of
Londesborough for nearly 50 years,
have moved into the new
apartment/condos that are still under
construction at the south end of
Blyth off Gypsy Lane. Their new
residence is more accommodating toFrank and his wheelchair andDorothy does not need to worry
about grass and snow. Their son Earl
and wife, Anita, are currently
making changes to Frank and
Dorothy’s house to suit their
particular needs and tastes.
Wilmer Glousher experienced
some health issues last winter and he
and Marie felt they, too, needed to
make a residence change. They have
gone to an apartment in Blyth as
well. Their former home is now busy
with the sounds and activities of a
young family. We welcome back to
the village Paula (Allen) Beauchamp
and her three sons. They won’t have
far to walk to school when they are
old enough.
Although we are sorry to lose
friends, we wish them well in their
new surroundings recognizing that
change is inevitable. And we
welcome the newcomers and trust
they will find our little corner of
Huron County to their liking. There
are some other changes pending and
I’ll tell you of them in a future
column.
