On Saturday the club hosted Rolly
and Shirley Kaufman’s 50th
wedding anniversary. Around 100
family and friends got together in the
dining lounge to a delicious chicken
and beef buffet. This group of close
friends shared many laughs and told
lots of stories and it was great to see
them join us at the club. Cheryl and
her staff did a stellar job both in the
kitchen and at the bar. Thanks
Shirley and Rolly! Congratulations.
This weekend the club welcomes
Potty (Al Johnston) home for the
annual Potty Cup held Saturday, July
23. The Ladies Invitational
Tournament is set to go on
Wednesday, Aug. 3. Anyone wishing
to join us on this fun-filled day
should call the pro shop as soon as
possible.

Barons lose to Fullarton A’s 12-8
The Fullarton A’s seemed to score
in every inning and the Blyth Barons
were unable to keep up as the
Barons fell 12-8 to the A’s last
Friday evening in Huron County
Fastball League play at the Blyth
ball park.
The A’s scored three runs in the
top of the first and the Barons
responded in their half of the inning
with three runs of their own.
Fullarton put four runners across the
plate in the second inning, but the
Barons were unable to respond.
Dana Doherty hit a home run and
a single for the Barons with Chris
Stewart connecting for a home run.
Shawn Bromley was good for a pair
of triples and a single with Ryan
Clancy getting a double and a
single. Mike Bromley rapped out a
pair of singles and Dean Wheeler
contributed a single in a losing
effort.
Wheeler started in the pitcher’s
circle for the Barons with Adam
Cronin taking over in the third
inning. Senior player Mike
McDonald said Fullarton hit in
every inning while the Barons were
unable to. “They [Fullarton] jumped
out to a lead and we were just unable
to respond,” he said.
On the positive side of the game,
the Barons had a couple of home
runs from Dana Doherty and Chris
Stewart.
The Barons host the Zurich
Rangers on Friday beginning at 7:30
p.m. and then play host to the
