Seaforth Public SchoolPAGE 18. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, JULY 7, 2011.
By Mikaela Gibbs and
David Metzger
David Metzger: Hey Mikaela,
who are these fine looking people?
Mikaela Gibbs: Um, those are the
parents.
D: Well then, good evening ladies,
gentlemen and others. It is a great
pleasure to have you here this
evening to celebrate this glorious
moment in our lives.
M: Okay! Movin’ on. This last
year of our childhood has been
thrilling.
D: From impressing Mrs. Gerber
on the first day, to making her
scream on the last, this has indeed
been a year to remember.
M: I’m sure we can all agree that
we were very lucky to experience
such an amazing teacher.
D: Such amazing people.
M: And such amazing report
cards.
D: But of course, we can’t go
anywhere without mentioning how
fortunate we were to have the
privilege of participating in all
Seaforth Public School had to offer.
M: This includes sporting events.
D: House leagues.
M: Yearbook.
D: And of course, the one and
only, Camp Celtic.
M: Ah, Celtic. The memories we
made there. We can still remember
every detail, even now. Travis
having a spaz in his sleep. Jesse
making a face plant in a mud puddle
with only boxers on his body, and
jumping into Cyprus while
witnessing boggers coming out of
Bobble’s nose. Oh, what a scene.
D: Speaking of memories, it’s a
given that we will always remember
our peers.
M: Like Justin, Jesse, Bryton,
Lane and Travis. These five spend a
lot of their time hitting jumps in
Munns, where what happened
always ends up finding its way back
to us. However, they’re awesome
kids and they’re completely
unforgettable.
D: Sadie, Morgan, Austin and
Jordan. These four party animals
never let a day go by without spicing
it up in some way. Whether it be
crackin’ jokes in the hallway, or
lipin’ the teacher to their heart’s
content … hmmmm … Jordan …
hmmmm! They always find a way to
entertain no matter who you are.
M: Cameron. Well, this kid is
pretty self-explanatory. He has
endless energy, no matter the time of
day, and he always speaks his mind.
Always! Even if that means
speaking from the butt. In other
words, farting. He also has no fear of
anything. He just jumps in whenever
he sees an open opportunity and tries
to make the best of it.
D: Kaitlyn. This girl is very polite,
very shy and very quiet. She keeps
to herself most of the time, but, like
Cameron, whenever she sees an
open opportunity, she won’t hesitate
to take it.
M: Ethan, Sam, Adam and Alex.
Ah, the four curlers. In fact, the best
in Ontario! For their age group, that
is. These guys are smart, fun, caring
and two of the four are computer
geniuses.
D: Cole, Brian, Alex. G, Nick.
These guys are our gamers, whether
it means Call of Duty or computer
games. They also love books.
Especially right in the middle of
math class. Brian…!
M: John, Ryan. The only word to
describe these two: goofballs. And if
you wish to go into further
detail, Thing one and Thing two.
These guys always find a way
to bring a smile to our face, whether
it means making funny faces
and noises, farting, or getting
in trouble for incomplete home-
work.
D: Mikaela, Robyn, Sarah. These
are probably the most mature people
in our class. They’re respectful,
friendly and they’re always open for
conversation, especially Mikaela.
M: Natasha, Kim. These two girls
are very athletic, smart and popular.
They love fashion and they are very
laid back.
D: Emily. Emily is the cowgirl of
the class. She has a big affection for
horses and she is also a very
experienced rider. And as far as life
at school goes, she’s very bright,
she’s always happy and she’s always
willing to help, no matter the
situation.
M: Carly. This girl is sunshine in
disguise. She is very intelligent, she
has no trace of hesitance, and she is
a fabulous friend to everybody. She
is also a true athlete, and is no sore
loser.
D: Courtney. She has awesome
hair. She herself is also very athletic,
a.k.a., she adores figure skating. She
also has a brain and she is not afraid
to use it.
M: David. He’s a champ. He’s got
a brain, he’s got a personality and
he’s got the ladies. I don’t think
there’s a single person in this school
who doesn’t know him or love him.
Am I right?
D: Matt. He’s a great soccer player
and he is very entertaining. He
always knows how to make you
laugh, even if you have no sense of
humour. He’s also very, very, very,
tall.
M: These incredible and utterly
amazing adolescents have come a
long way since that first day of
kindergarten and have developed
into mature, young adults.
D: We made it through
elementary.
M: We will make it through high
school.
D: And we will make something
of ourselves.
M: We’ve learned to love each
other as brothers and sisters and
when the time comes that we have to
say goodbye, we all know it will be
hard, but that’s life.
D: However, life now has
facebook, so, I think we’re good.
M: And now that we’re on the
topic of saying goodbye.
D: It is also time to say goodbye to
elementary school, and helloooo,
high school!
M: High school has its ups and
downs. The downs include those
freaky Grade 12 students shoving
you into a locker, getting lost in
those big, dark hallways and
walking into the wrong classroom
and making an utter fool of yourself.
D: The ups include meeting new
people, eating cafeteria food and
leaving public school. Something I
think all of us are looking forward
to.
M: But, we can’t forget that the
teachers are what got us this far.
And so because of that, we
would like to give out big thank yous
to…
D: Mrs. Gerber, Mrs. Hoover, Mr.
Steinacker, Mrs. Devereaux, Mr.
Park, Mrs. McKee, Mr. Dekker, Mrs.
Jewitt, Mrs. Reynolds, Mrs.
Carnochan, Mrs. Paetkau, Mrs.
Griffin, Mr. Farnell and the
custodians.
M: We want to thank all of you for
helping us with our education.
D: Bringing out our athletic and
artistic abilities.
M: Cleaning up after us.
D: And keeping us updated.
M: All of our hard work has
paid off and we thank all of you for
it.
D: In conclusion, we would like to
wish the best of luck to everyone as
we enter high school.
M: Our times together have been
awesome, and we hope at some
point in our lives, we will all reunite
once again.
