In loving memory of Tom Consitt, a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather who passed away June 4, 2010. If tears could build a stairway, And memories were a lane, I would walk right up to heaven, And bring you home again. No farewell words were spoken, No time to say goodbye, You were gone before I knew it, And only God knows why. My heart still aches in sadness, And secret tears still flow, What it meant to lose you, No one will ever know. A gold heart stopped beating, Hard working hands put to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Your presence we miss, your memory we treasure, loving you always and forgetting you never. – Barbara and Paul; Scott and Brenda; Rod and Lori and Grace Evans. Grandpa, If roses grew in Heaven, Lord pick a bunch for us, Place them in our grandpa’s arms, And tell him they are from his grandchildren. Tell him that we love him and miss him, And when he turns to smile, Place a kiss upon his cheek, And hold him for a while. Because remembering him is easy, We do it every day, There is an ache within our hearts, That will never go away. – Sadly missed and remembered always, Stacey, Kelly, Kimberly and Steven Consitt; Katrina, McKayla and Brianne Merner. 24-1 -------------------------------------------- NICHOLSON. The Citizen 519-523-4792 or 519-887-9114 Huron East Against Turbines (HEAT) co-founder Gerry Ryan spoke to Huron East Council at its June 7 meeting regarding concerns the group has with the official project document recently made available by St. Columban Wind Energy. Additional concerns were raised by HEAT including the potential for an accident or a malfunction, that surface water might be affected and that noise may bother neighbouring residents. These are all concerns, the group said, that were voiced at a recent opposition rally in Seaforth. The group then called for Huron East Council to revise a motion it had made earlier this year, changing its zoning bylaw on wind turbines from 350 metres to 550 metres to be in line with the Green Energy Act, should it be brought down after this fall’s election. Ryan outlined the graduated scale on which setbacks are measured, saying that one turbine should be 550 metres away from a home according to the Green Energy Act, but that when the number of turbines gets higher, the setbacks increase, something that is not in the Huron East zoning bylaw. Clerk-Administrator Jack McLachlan said that council would investigate rewriting its zoning bylaw so it is perfectly in line with the Green Energy Act, including the graduated scale. Councillor Bill Siemon said he was confused as to why Huron East would spend any further taxpayer dollars on a bylaw requested by HEAT that even HEAT didn’t want anymore. “We’re setting ourselves up for another lawsuit and nobody seems to want [the zoning bylaw],” Siemon said. “Everybody says we’re spinning our wheels, so why don’t we just drop it?” McLachlan said further information would be brought to the June 21 council meeting. HEAT persists on wind project
