RUTH RAPSON
Ruth Isabel Rapson of Seaforth
passed away at London Health
Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus
on Wednesday, June 1, 2011. She
was 82.
Ruth was the beloved wife of the
late John Rapson (1990), loving
mother of Albert, Seaforth; David
and Sharon, Brussels; Mary and
James Otto, New Hamburg and Bill
and Jennifer, Brussels and dear
grandmother of Becky (Andrew)
Courtney, Ripley; Allison (David)
Lisle, New York City; Cody, Jesse,
and Eden Rapson, Brussels;
Michael, Andrea, Christine (fiancé
Owen Horn), Katie, Matthew and
Daniel Otto, New Hamburg; and
Alana, Lydia, Regan, Luke and Jon
Rapson, Brussels. Ruth was the
cherished great-grandmother of
Sivan Courtney.
She will be remembered by
brothers Murray (Sue) Stevenson,
Waterloo and William (Carol)
Stevenson, Brussels. Ruth is
survived by sisters-in-law Goldie
Stevenson, Atwood; Eleanor
Stevenson, Brussels; Jean
Cox, Goderich; Annie Rapson,
Mitchell and several nieces and
nephews.
Ruth was predeceased by her
parents John and Pearl (Schnock)
Stevenson; brothers Gordon and
Stuart; sister Mary and Glen Nichol;
brothers-in-law George Cox and
Harry Rapson; sister-in-law Leah
and Ross Woodward and nephews
and nieces Tom Stevenson, Marjorie
Simons, John Cox, Betty Ann
Rapson and Joe Nichol.
Family received friends on
Sunday, June 5 at the Whitney-Ribey
Funeral Home, Seaforth from 2 - 4
p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral
service was held on Monday, June 6
at the Bethel Bible Church, Seaforth
at 1 p.m.
Pastor Mark Kennedy officiated.
Pallbearers were Albert Rapson,
David Rapson, Bill Rapson, James
Otto, Cody Rapson and Michael
Otto. Honour Guard was Matthew
Otto, Jesse Rapson, Luke
Rapson, Regan Rapson, Daniel Otto,
John Rapson, Becky Courtney,
Allison Rapson, Andrea Otto,
Christine Otto, Katie Otto, Eden
Rapson, Alana Rapson and Lydia
Rapson.
Interment was in Clinton
Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Bethel
Bible Church, The Gideons or
Samaritan’s Purse would be
