Continued from page 2members Nicole Noble and Jeff Cardiff welcomed the over 100 folksattending. It was a lovely evening with a wonderful performance byTheatre 311 from Listowel. The twoactors delivered a reflection thattook the audience through thejourney of two people’s lives woven
together through letters. It was very
well done and enjoyed by all.
Delicious hors d’oeuvres were
served during intermission. The
society also made a draw for one of
the lovely commemorative posters
available and Joyce Johnston was the
lucky winner. Congratulations to the
Brussels Agricultural Society for a
successful evening.
On Saturday, the St. John
Ambulance Society held a re-
certification training day at the
Branch. There were about eight
volunteers of the area group on hand
for the day. They were instructed and
refreshed on training techniques and
then wrote their exam at the end of
the day. Good news – they all
passed.
The Parent Support Committee of
the Cadet Corp was selling hot dogs
and pop outside the Branch on
Saturday as a fundraiser for the
Cadets. They still have cookbooks
available and had a lucky draw.
The Saturday afternoon euchrehad nine-and-a-half tables ofplayers. Winners were: first, Tomand Eileen Sloan, 78; second, Billand Faye Albert, 76; third, John and
Iola Subject, 74; low, Ivan
Bennewies and Vera Smith; lone
hands, four teams tied, winners after
cutting the cards were Mary
McIntosh and Bev. Euchre is every
two weeks.
The fish fry crew was off to
Trowbridge United Church for the
first time. The crew fed over 150
folks and the hosts were quite
pleased with the success of the
venture. Comrades helping for theday included Deb Caan, Jo-AnnMcDonald, Cam Ross, Judy Lee,Norm Dobson, Eric Ross and RickMcDonald.
The Sunday night dance had over
80 enjoy the music of the Country
Versatiles.
Those attending came from far
and wide and the threat of bad
weather kept some of our southern
folks at home. Comrades Jo-Ann
McDonald, Mabel Glanville, Randy
White, Judy Lee and Mary
Bradshaw had the evening going
very smoothly.

changing hands and closets and

fun day for many.
We’re pretty excited in Graber
land. Phil has joined the Edmonton
Fire Department as a rookie. He has
shown patience I didn’t know he
had, as he has been tested and tried
and examined and checked many
times over the past few years. so the
letter of invitation to the Edmonton
Fire Department was cause for great
celebration.
Of course when the rookie days
are done, we’ll head out for a
graduation. Ahhhh.
