WE CAN DO IT ALL!
This Precious Anointing!
(from “The Precious Anointing” by Octavius Winslow)
This holy anointing of the Spirit will impart clearness to your mind, so that you
shall have a right judgment in all things.
It will impart sweetness to your temper; gentleness to your spirit, and will give you
a lowly, loving self condemning heart.
It will make your behaviour towards others more Christlike. It will fill you with
charity and love; the grace of kindness will be in your heart, and the law of kindness
on your lip.
This precious anointing is so soul transforming, so ‘Christ assimilating’ in its
influence, that it is impossible to partake of it in any degree and not be like Jesus.
When you see a religious professor who is... proud in heart, lofty in spirit, covetous
in his aims, condemning others, justifying himself, unsympathizing, or harsh; you
see one who is lacking this anointing.
He is not sitting at the feet of Jesus.

Currently at Blyth Public School
students have had many activities
going on. On April 27, the band and
some other talented students
entertained seniors at Blyth
Memorial Hall. Many pianists,
singers and performers showed their
talents. A special thanks for the
seniors’ contribution to the Music
Fund. The performers enjoyed
sharing their talents with them.
April 29 was a busy day for many
students. The Knights of Columbus
held a chess tournament in
Goderich. Students used their wits
and strategies throughout the day.
No awards were won by Blyth
students, but they enjoyed the
challenge and activities.
The Junior Sci-Techno Challenge
was also held on April 29. Students
in teams of three competed in
several science-based events that
kept the competitors thinking.
Congratulations to Andrew Reinink,
Drew VanWyk and Franklin
Marshall for finishing third place in
the windmill challenge. A special
thanks to George Reinink for
helping complete this project. The
Senior Sci-Techno Challenge will be
on May 5.

Two Masons baptizedat Blyth United churchGreeting worshippers at Blyth
United Church on baptism Sunday,
May 1 were Myrtle and Larry
Badley. Ushering were Brenda
Brooks, Nicole Kerr and Gary
Trudeau. Floyd Herman was music
director. Ally Mason lit the candles
at the front of the church.
Rev. Gary Clark welcomed
everyone to church on this baptism
day. Rev. Clark drew everyone’s
attention to the announcements in
the bulletin with special attention
that the ladies have a few beef pies
available for sale. He also
mentioned that Floyd Herman will
be an actor in a play this coming
week at the Livery Theatre in
Goderich.
The call to worship was sung,
“Come in and Sit Down” followed
by the prayer of approach repeated
in unison. The congregation stood
and repeated the United Church
Creed in unison. The next hymn,
“Joy Comes with the Dawn” was
sung.
Those being baptized that
morning were introduced by Myrtle
Badley. They were Kaitlyn Mae
Mason, daughter of Christopher
Mason and Bobbie Joe Gibbs and
Lecha Mason, daughter of Bradley
Mason and Angel Munro. The
children were asked to come to the
front and pour the water in the
baptism font. They all said a prayer
for God to bless the water for the
children being baptized. The choir
sang the anthem, “You are Loved”
naming the children that were
baptized.
The children went downstairs for
their time of worship and
fellowship. The scripture was from
Deuteronomy 5: 1-24.
The congregation watched a
video about camp being good for
children and teaching them respect
and fellowship and learning to be
with others. Rev. Clark’s message to
the adults was “The Commandment
and You…More Joy.” Rev. Clark
talked about three things: Mental
Health Week, Commandments and
Baptism. Most of us do not

invitation was most unexpected.
Ruth feels blessed to be
remembered by so many of her
friends and thanks them sincerely
for their prayers, cards and good
wishes for her speedy recovery.
She will be returning to Knollcrest
in Milverton soon.
