HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Citizen, 2011-04-07, Page 27The Regional Equine and Agricultural Centre of Huron (REACH) is hosting the Knights of Valour on Friday, April 8 for a limited time engagement. REACH will be hosting three two- hour shows performed by the amazing Knights of Valour Jousting Troup. This educational and entertaining group will be performing in the REACH indoor arena complex at 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. for public schools and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. for the public. Since 1997, the Knights of Valour have been entertaining North American audiences with exciting shows of horsemanship, bravery and chivalry. They have performed at many venues including the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and Casa Loma. All of the performances will include a mounted emcee, birds of prey, jousting and mounted games. Following the performances, attendees will all have a chance to meet the knights, learn more about jousting and medieval times and to purchase Knights of Valour merchandise. Tickets are on sale now at REACH and ticket outlets in the surrounding areas. Advance tickets can be purchased for $15 each or $50 for a group of four ($12.50/additional group members). A night of mystery and delicious food is on the horizon as the Alzheimer Society of Huron County celebrates their annual Forget-Me- Not Dinner Auction. The evening will feature both silent and live auctions, a mobster-themed murder mystery sponsored by RPM Promotions and a buffet dinner catered by Whiskful Thinking. The event will be held at the Legion in Clinton. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Tickets are now available by contacting the Society at 519-482- 1482 and must be purchased in advance. The price is $50 per person or $350 for a table of eight. Only 150 tickets are available. “We are really excited to incorporate a murder mystery into our annual Forget-Me-Not Dinner Auction as well as welcome Whiskful Thinking as our caterer this year,” says Cathy Ritsema, Executive Director. “We have had some great items donated for the auction, such as weekend getaways, VIP wine tastings from various Niagara Region wineries, theatre tickets and so much more.
