Ready. Set. Go!

had nothing in it to convince him
that Harper has changed his ways
and “is prepared to work with others
in Parliament to give middle-class
families a break”.
The vote of non-confidence was
also spurred on by the Conservative
Government being found in
contempt of Parliament.
Conservative Party Cabinet
Minister Bev Oda may have also
been found in contempt of
Parliament, however the committee
was dissolved with
Parliament before a result could be
tabled.
The non-confidence vote passed
on party lines with all
Conservatives voting against it
(145 members) and all Bloc
Quebecois, Liberal and NDP
candidates voting for it
(156 members).

costs.
Comments were also made by
several councillors, including
Seaforth newcomer Nathan
Marshall, that the municipality’s
aging infrastructure should be one of
the main concerns of the 2011
budget.
He cited the municipality’s
building study and said that if
council wasn’t planning on taking
action, that reports such as that one
were unnecessary.
“There’s no sense in
examining what’s wrong with our
buildings if we’re not going to fix
them.”

The Majestic Women’s Institute
met on March 9 in the basement of
the Brussels Library. Thirteen
members and six guests from the
Walton Women’s Institute attended
a quick meeting. Guest speaker
Janet Sears spoke on eight steps to a
healthier brain. They were:
challenge your brain, puzzles, learn
a new language; protect your head;
healthy food and water; active social
life, join a group, visit a friend, and
attend community events; stay away
from toxins, monitor health, weight
and blood pressure; reduce stress,
get a hobby, smell the flowers,
regular sleep habits; stay physically
active, take a walk, dance and join a
gym.
Thank you to Janet Sears for
reminding us to take time for
yourself so you can be there for
others.
After the meeting, a surprise

followed by a wonderful snack and
coffee.
