A fairy tale winter wonderland
was the theme for the wedding of
Kelly McDonald and Adam Jarosz
on December 18, 2010. Kelly is the
daughter of Rick and Jo-Ann
McDonald of Walton and Adam is
the son of Reed and Sue Jarosz of
Waterloo.
The sanctuary of Duff’s United
Church, Walton was beautifully
decorated in silver, white and
burgundy for the ceremony, which
was conducted by Rev. Dr. Peter
Kugba-Nyande. The wedding party
danced down the aisle to the song
“Forever” by Chris Brown. A
Chinese Chatter Box was used as
part of the wedding vows.
Kelly wore a beautiful strapless,
southern-belle-style gown with
layers of silk and lace cascading
down the body of the full skirt. It
featured a mid-length train and was
gathered with a flower at the hip. A
matching flower was worn in her
hair.
Kelly was attended by her sister
LeeAnn Konarski as matron of
honour and the bridesmaids were
Jasmine Moffet, Kitchener; Katie
Emmrich, Walton; Amanda Haak,
Seaforth and Alicia McDonald,
Walton. The girls wore strapless,
embroidered-bodice burgundy
gowns. They were floor-length, full,
formal, southern-belle style with a
ruffled hem and matching flower at
the hip.
Adam was attended by his best
man Paul Royston, Wellesley and
groomsmen Nick Maude, Waterloo;
Nathan Swartzentruber, New
Hamburg; Jason Konarski, Seaforth
and Scott McDonald, Walton. They
wore black tuxedos with silver
vests.
The wedding dinner and reception
was held at the River Garden Inn in
Stratford. The wedding party danced
into the hall to “Are You Ready For
This” by 2Unlimited. Upon arrival
at the hall, guests were greeted with
a forest of trees and a sleigh in
which to have their photo taken. The
hall was beautifully decorated in
black, burgundy, silver and white.
Adam’s twin sisters Lisa and Leslie,
were the Mistresses of ceremonies.
Adam and Kelly had prepared a
slide show to show their guests how
they felt about them. A surprise visit
by Santa to wish the couple Merry
Christmas was enjoyed by Adam
and Kelly and the younger guests.
The couple provided a photo booth
with goofy items for guests to model
and take fun pictures later in the
evening.
Adam and Kelly enjoyed a 26-day
Contiki Tour to Europe for their
honeymoon. They went to France,
Italy, Spain, Czech Republic,
Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands,
Austria and England.
Adam and Kelly live in New
Hamburg.

Exchange your vows while

MS –Environmentally-friendly
ideals are now permeating all
aspects of daily living. Many people
want to take the concept further and
ensure their nuptials, and
subsequent reception, are good for
the planet as well.
Although there are no firm
statistics on the number of green
weddings being held each year,
emerging trends point to the
growing interest in eco-conscious
weddings. Individuals who already
do their best to recycle, reuse and
reduce want to employ those same
values on their wedding day.
There are many ways to employ a
green mind set to wedding planning
and execution. Largely the carbon
footprint of a wedding can be
reduced simply by scaling back and
avoiding over-consumption. Here
are some ideas to think about.
1. Reduce travel. By reducing
guests’ need to travel for a wedding,
or offering transportation that can
accommodate several people at once
(like a bus), carbon emissions
