GEORGE WILLIAM HENRY
COOK
George William Henry Cook of
Clinton, Ontario passed away after a
courageous battle with cancer on
Friday, Feb. 18, 2011 at Seaforth
Community Hospital. He was 59.
George was the loved son of
Kathleen Buchanan and her friend
Arie and the late John Stanley Cook.
He is survived by his sisters and
brothers Brenda and Bill
McDougall, Connie and Kevin
Tasker, Dianne and Paul Josling, Bill
Cook, Stephen and Debbie Cook,
Maryanne Fitzgerald and Ernie, Sam
and Vickie Cook, Susan Dale and
Charles, and Kevin East. He was
predeceased by brother Peter in
2007.
He will be dearly missed by 15
nieces and nephews and seven great-
nieces and nephews.
Friends were received by the
family on Feb. 20 at Falconer
Funeral Homes, Blyth Chapel where
the funeral service was held Feb. 21.
Pastor Les Cook officiated.
Interment is at Brandon Cemetery
Belgrave in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy
memorial donations may be made to
the Seaforth Community Hospital or
the Canadian Cancer Society.
ROSS ALCOCK
Ross Alcock of RR 3, Brussels,
passed away suddenly at his
residence on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011.
Born in Grey Township on Aug. 7,
1941, Ross was in his 70th year.
Ross will be remembered as a
lifelong farmer in Grey Township,
for the mail route he maintained for
34 years and for his commitment to
both the Brussels Lions Club and
Brussels Legion. He will be sadly
missed by his wife of 44 years, Cora
(Smith), his children Jeff and Erin
Alcock of Waterloo and Brian and
Connie Alcock of RR 4, Walton and
his granddaughters Kim, Amy,
Emma and Hailey.
Ross was the dear brother of Bill
Alcock of Goderich, Betty Daer of
Clinton and Murray and Barb
Alcock of Goderich. He was the dear
brother-in-law to Carol Alcock of
Goderich and will also be
remembered by his many nieces and
nephews. Ross was predeceased by
his parents Jack and Isabel, his
brother Ken, his half brothers Tom
and Frank, his brother-in-law Joe
and his sister-in-law Helene.
Friends were received by the
family from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m.
on Feb. 18 at the Schimanski Family
Funeral Home and one hour prior to
the funeral service conducted at St.
John’s Anglican Church on Feb. 19
at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Perry
Chuipka.
Carrying floral tributes were
Ross’s granddaughters Kim, Amy,
Emma and Hailey. Pallbearers were
Brian Alcock, Jeff Alcock, Bill
Alcock, Murray Alcock, Joe Smith
and Bill Hetherington.
Interment is to take place in the
spring at St. John’s Anglican Church
Cemetery, Morris Township.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made to
St. John’s Anglican Church Building
Fund, the Seaforth Community
Hospital Foundation or to the charity
of one’s choice.
A Legion service under the
auspices of Brussels Legion No. 218
was conducted at the funeral home
on Friday evening.
