Performances will include Johnny Reid, Hedley, Down With Webster, Broken Social Scene and Best Album of the Year Grammy Winners Arcade Fire. The Blyth Festival, together with Ellison Travel and Tours Ltd., will host a theatre getaway to New York City April 26-30. The five-day excursion to Manhattan is a fundraiser for the Blyth Festival, and is hosted by Artistic Director Eric Coates. “We are delighted to once again partner with Ellison Travel after a hugely successful trip in 2009,” says Coates. “New York City is the heart and soul of the arts in North America. This is a chance to experience the ‘eye of the storm’ with a group of like-minded folks.” The tour features one Broadway and one Off-Broadway show, a narrative harbour cruise, a guided coach tour of Manhattan and visits to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Rockefeller Center’s Top of the Rock. Four nights of accommodation, two group dinners, and roundtrip motorcoach transportation is included. Tour planning is by Ellison Travel and Tours Ltd. A tax receipt for $150 will be issued for each space booked. This donation is included in the cost of the trip, and will directly benefit the Blyth Festival – a registered not-for- profit charity. “It has become increasingly important for the Festival to explore creative fundraising opportunities to support our work both on stage and in the community,” says Coates. “Special events are an important piece of our fundraising initiatives.” Please visit www.blythfestival. com or contact info@blythfestival. com or 1-877-862-5984. Just Bieber “Brandon”, became a huge fan of Justin Bieber just one year ago, just as millions of other teens did. Brandon had been singing, dancing and acting for several years while being compared to Justin Bieber vocally, so the transition into tribute artist was a natural fit. Brandon is a young veteran actor and his credits include, Murdoch Mysteries as Ben Di Giorno, Extreme Infestations on the Discovery Channel and he is currently shooting a principal role as Doctor Green in the Nic Izzi Film Amazing Red vs. Doctor Green as well as several commercials. When Brandon hits the stage, all his training kicks in and he becomes Justin Bieber, his connection to the audience is amazing, children from the ages of five to 15 years old, as well as their parents cannot help but clap, dance and sing along to this very talented young man as he performs the hits of Justin Bieber. For more information about Just Bieber, please contact the Wingham Heritage Theatre Box Office, 290 Josephine St. at 519-357-4082.
