NEWS
FROM WALTON
By Jo-AnnMcDonaldCall 887-6570PEOPLE AROUNDWALTON It has been a good week on theroad for the most part. Saturday sawsome snowy weather and slipperyroads but it wasn’t too bad.A couple of corrections to lastweek’s article. Edna Pearson (Alec)has not moved to Huronlea at thistime. She is still at the SeaforthManor and is settling in well. The
second item is that Kathleen
Williamson is not in Stratford
Hospital, but in Clinton Hospital.
When it comes to people in the
hospital, things change pretty
quickly. By the time the newspaper
comes out, they have moved to
another, or went home. At the time
of writing, folks in Seaforth
Hospital include Leona McDonald,
Carla Menheere and Harold Bridge.
Bob Cunningham is a patient in a
Kitchener Hospital after having
bypass surgery. Gerald Watson is
also a patient in Clinton Hospital.
We wish everyone the best in their
time of sickness and speedy
recoveries.
The Cranbrook Dart Club had 22
players out to take aim on Jan. 12.
The high shot of the night went to
Kathy Workman hitting a 107 and
close behind was Hein Kuipers
hitting a 104.
Involved in an auto accident last
weekend were Tracey and KarissaEckert and Kim and BrookeFinlayson. The foursome were inLondon heading to a hockey gamefor the girls when they were hit headon. Thankfully no one sustained life-threatening injuries. Karissa has abroken bone in her foot and Traceyshaken, bruised and has very sore
knees. Tracey had to be cut from the
vehicle. The Finlayson ladies
suffered some lacerations and were
shaken and bruised also. All have
been released from hospital after a
day’s stay. Tracey is the daughter of
Dianne Machan of Brussels and
Gary Bennett of Seaforth.
Duff’s United Church has
resumed services and a nice crowd
was in attendance on Sunday. Rev.
Gary Clark of Blyth conducted the
service. Breakfast was enjoyed by
many following the service. This
Sunday, Kathy Douglas will be the
guest speaker. Services are at 9:30
a.m. Sunday mornings.
Celebrating birthdays this past
week included Brenda Dalton, Holly
Mitchell, Doris Williamson, Dianne
Huether, Murray McCall, Brett
Stevenson, Paulene Gulutzen, Joan
Ritchie, Marni Knight, Clint
Emmrich, Angela Fraser and Nadine
Ringgenberg. Happy birthday to all.
Insane sliding
Erin Overholt, a Brussels Public School student, caught
some speed on her crazy carpet during recess last week.
