TRYNTJE BAKKERMrs. Tryntje Bakker of Wingham passed away at Braemar Retirement Centre on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011. She was 88. She was the beloved wife of Jan Bakker of Wingham and loving mother of Sipke and Jennie Bakker of Lucknow, Douwe and Corrie Bakker of Sarnia, Rein and Annemaria Bakker of Mississauga, Harke and June Bakker of Blyth and Linda and Peter Brink of Whitechurch. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Jantje Van Der Tol and her brother Harke Terpstra. Visitation was held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, on Jan. 4 from 7 - 9 p.m. and at the Lucknow Community Christian Reformed Church on Jan. 5 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Pastor Rita Klein-Geltink officiated. Interment is in WinghamCemetery. Memorial donations to Wingham and District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Ruth was born in Morris Township, the daughter of the late Harold and Verna Thomas. She was the beloved wife for 60 years of Roy Durst, and loving mother of Colleen Manning (Cameron), London; Doug Durst (Brenda), Walkerton; Mike Durst (Marian), Clinton; Peter Durst (Linda), Stittsville and Lianne Broughton (Rob), Waterdown. She was the grandmother of Claire, Martha and Emily Manning, Jeremy Durst (Lana), Felicia Durst, Jessica and Michelle Durst, SarahDurst, Mellisa Orvis (Tim), Kevin Durst, Lauren and Eric Broughton and great-grandmother of Jackson and Sophie Durst. Ruth was the dear sister of Charlie Thomas (Marguerite) and Joan Van Vliet. She is also survived by sisters- in-law Mae Ebel, Dorothy Collins, Joyce Badger, a brother-in-law Gordon Parr and by a special friend Phyllis Coleman. Friends and relatives were received at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Jan. 6 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service was held at the Greenwood Court Chapel, 90 Greenwood Drive, Stratford on Jan. 7 at 3 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society through the funeral home. He was in his 77th year. Lloyd was the loving father of Larry and Lisa Glousher of Clinton, Cheryl Glousher of Teeswater, Darlene Glousher of Seaforth and Colleen Staffen of Mitchell and the cherished grandfather of Allyson Glousher, Kyle Ford, Nathan and Andrew Staffen. He was the dear brother and brother-in-law of Wilmer and Marie Glousher of Londesborough. Doris and Harold McClinchey of Goderich, Marjorie and Roger Battler of Waterloo and Edith Glousher of Blyth. He will also be missed by nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Vera Glousher and his siblings Stanley Glousher, John Glousher and Thelma and LeonardDeveau. Friends will be received at the Blyth Visitation Centre of the Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd., 407 Queen St., Blyth on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Pastor Les Cook will officiate. Spring interment is in Hope Chapel Cemetery, Hullett Twp. Donations to the Lung Association or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
