Both teams are hoping to return with the trophies they -lost last year. The Bantams are looking forward to a victory over Ithaca's team which won in overtime last winter. A busload of 41 — including three of the boys' fathers — will go to New York and as many as six other couples will be driving down to root for the local teams. The minor hockey players travel to Watford the weekend after the New York trip to Colts down Crediton Clinton Pee Wees came from behind to gain a 2-2 tie against Seaforth in action Wednesday night at Seaforth. Robin McAdam's backhand goal in the third period gave Clinton the tie. Greg Holmes had given the Ponies a 1-0 lead earlier in the game, but Seaforth's Larry Lane scored in the second period to tie the score, then assisted on Bill O'Shea's goal early in the third. The action was fast and each team had excellent goaltending. In the otherhalf of the doubleheader in Seaforth, the bantams squeaked out a 5-4 win. Brian Kennedy and Bill Cantelon were killing a penalty in the Seaforth end when Kennedy gave a perfect pass out in front of the net for Cantelon to score the winner. In girls hockey, the Turtles edged the Hicks 2-1. Marlene Cunningham and Debbie Colquhoun scored for the 'Turtles and Brenda Smith replied for the Hicks. Lori Symons scored all the Jets' goals and Sandra Fremlin scored all the Flyers goals as the two teams played to a 3.3 tie. What inflation? Hydro rates may be rising, but one man in Clinton discovered recently that his current electrical bill would be twice as high as 1919 rates. The town resident said his actual PUC bill for two months this fall was $28.35. Figuring the cost at the prices charged 50 years ago, the same service would cost $52.25. BY BERT CLIFFORD Clinton Colts won a thrilling 8-5 win over Crediton Thursday night. After only three minutes of play the score looked bad for the Colts. Crediton's Dennis Morrissey scored on the first two shots of 'the game on Colts' goalie Lorne Iiaer at 2:18 and 2:36. It was two minutes later before Bud Boyes knocked in a rebound from Butch Murney to put Colts back in the game. Clinton's hard-working right winger Derwin Carter scored two goals from goal-mouth scrambles to help Clinton to a 3.3 tie at the end of the first period. It was again one of Harvey Dale's strongest games. After setting up both Carter's goals, he , scored two second-period goals himself to lead the club to a 5-4 margin after two periods. Daer's tremendous glove save at the halfway mark of the third period gave the Colts the spark they needed to put the game away. At 14:01 Randy Glew picked up a pass from Harvey Still not using seat belts? Dale in front of the net and shot the puck into the corner. A minute later a perfect pass by Harvey Dale to Randy Glew put the Colts in front 7-4. Craig Chapman scored his second of the night to round out the Clinton scoring. The final Crediton goal was scored by Paul Young on a backhand shot. The Colts face three road games next week before playing at home Dec. 28 against Elora at 7 p.m. INVITATIONS AND -,,ANNOUNCEMENTS ANSTETTT- JEWELLER LTD. - Clinton • Walkerton And Seaforth ;;TEL.
