Paltenharn of Wheatley, Mrs. Joan Tomkowicz of Goderich and Mrs. William Hensch of British Columbia. The members decided to remember the shut-ins and to send $10 to St. Monica House at Kitchener. 'Roll call was answered by quoting a Bible verse about the birth of Jesus. The travelling apron received a penny for each 'letter in "Jews Heals a Leper." Rev. Keith Stokes presided for the election of officers. Johnston. and Son purchased the business from, the late George Denstedt, the father of the late May Munro, PERSONALS Mrs, Ethel Farrow and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Young of Mitchell visited Wednesday afternoon with the former's brother, Thomas Johnston, Mrs. Johnston and Miss Laura Phillips. Mrs. Robert Phillips is visiting in Goderich with Mrs. Dora Jewell of Goderich while Mr. Phillips is a patient in Goderich Hospital. Public school pupils from this section joined in presenting their annual Christmas concert on Wednesday evening at the Hullett Township Hall at Londesboro. In the Past the school held annual concerts, weeny in the _springtime, but last week's event• was the first one at Phristmas• Mrs. Bonnie -Jewitt was the director. First on the program •waS Performance by the primary Choir cOMPesed a first And eecend-graders. Next came a grade 4 play titled "Mr. Mouse Enjoys Christmas." The cast included Ricky Forbes, Bobby Orr, Ann Elliott, Robin Ormandy, Susan Fuller, Sandra Fuller, Lorrie Hutchins, Murray Bolger, Terry Blok, Erin 13issett and Allan Hirst. Getting together to sing Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" was the trio of Darlene Chowen, Cindy Middleton and Michael Rivett. "Teddy's Own Santa," a grade 3 play, was performed by Karen Bolger, Ray Moffatt, Brian Riddell, Mark Westbrook, Sylvia Forbes, Gerry Glousher, Neil Voscamp and Vicki Steeps. Sarah Wain and Wade Raithby presented a recitation which was followed by the senior play, "Heck Says It," whose cast members were Clay Stirling, Sandra Freeman, Jane Harris, Rodney Cox, Randy Potter, Tom Schmidt, Mary Ellen The Christmas meeting of Holmesville United Church Women was conducted by Mrs. William Porter. Mrs. Walter read the scripture and Mrs. Blake led in prayer. A reading was given by Mrs. Gliddon and Mrs, Porter read a stewardship article titled "Keeping Faith with the Spirit of Christmas," Roll call was answered with seasonal verses. The president, Mrs. Bond, conducted the business and thanked the ladies for helping with the appreciation banquet and bazaar. A donation of $50 was made to the Teen Girls' Home in London. Christmas gifts were purchased for patients in the Goderich Psychiatric Hospital and Mrs. Mowatt conducted the election of 1970-71 officers. Heading the new slate is Mrs. William Norman, president. Other officers include Mrs. C. Tebbutt, vice president; Mrs. Sturdy, Shelley finrgess and Leroy DeJong. Singing "DAsher" were Karen Bolger, Debbie and Pnrie Se. Alexa nder.. w Pirt on a French play, titled "Un Pedean de Noel," were Nancy Dellinger, Cheryl Bell, Bill Atkinson, Marie Betties and Carole Weber. Reader was Dale Elliott. After that came a recitation by Lloyd Aantzl and a series of selections by the Senior choir, Following intermission, an operetta, "The Elves end The Shoemaker," was staged by. Danny Freeman, Susan McLean, Larry Jantzi, Rosemary Bird, Tammy Wilson, Beverly Mathers and Stephen DeGroof. Linda Diehl then gave a recitation. Duane Malcolm was reader for a junior operetta, "A Bomb For Santa." Cast members were Ken Wise, Debra Sowerby, Danny Weber, Brian Streughan, Cohen Spence, Diana Freeman, Christine Wise, Phillip Potter, Paul Wise, Larry Hutchins, Scott Raithby, Janice Orr.,Debra BGiessdedtets, Delila Geddes and Erin The senior pageant, "Come Let Us Adore Him," was followed by a recitation given by Janice Miller and a series of numbers by the junior choir. Porter, recording secretary; Mrs. Bob Norman, corresponding secretary and Mrs. K. Harris, treasurer. Pianist is Mrs. Bond. On the social committee are Mrs. Whitely, Mrs. Batkin, Mrs. H. KINSMEN P441 'rhe Kinsmen Club of Hensall held its third annual senior citizens, night at Hensall Public School Thursday evening, Forty senior citizens toek the bus trip from the school and enjoyed a tour of Christmas lights at Exeter, Hensall and district. A Prograin followed at the School which included selections by the Glee Club of the school under direction of Lawrence Wein, music supervisor; readings, John Baker; violin selections, Cecil Maxwell with Relish Fitzpatrick on the piano; accordion selections, Kenneth. Jones and piano duets, Mrs. Robert Pryde and her daughter, Janet. Santa distributed favors to all the senior citizens. Members of the Kinette Club served lunch. Harry Horton gave courtesy remarks and Ron Wareing was emcee for the program. Everyone enjoyed the delightful evening. ST. 1%11 A.C.W. The regular meeting of the Anglican Church Women was held in December at the home of Mrs. Frank Forrest •with Mrs. Annie Reid in the chair. The meeting commenced with the singing of a Christmas carol accompanied by Mrs. Forrest on the piano. The ladies agreed to collect used postage stamps for the Canadian Bible Society and anyone wishing to donate used stamps should present same to Mrs. Reid. At the close of the meeting, Mrs. Aldwinckle, who recently celebrated her 80th birthday, was presented with a gift, a lovely cup and saucer and birthday card, on behalf of all the members. Games were played with Mrs. George Anderson as master of ceremonies, followed by refreshments, which included birthday cake made by Mrs. Forrest, in honor of Mrs. Aldwinckle. Thompson presided. Arrangements were made for distribution of Christmas gifts for the shut-ins. Christmas' greetings from the various lodges were read. A Christmas Program of readings and carols and an exchange of gifts by members were highlights of the evening. Lunch was served. Mrs. R. A. Orr was the winner of a surprise package on radio station CKSI, London.
