1968 Dairy Princess
Five seek title
as new 1969
dairy princess
Five Huron County girls will
compete Saturday ,for the title
of Huron County Dairy Queen
at the Clinton spring livestock
fair.
They are: Lynda Walden, RR
2, Lucknow; Ann de Groot,
Blyth; Dawna Reynolds, RR 2,
Seaforth; Donha Ritchie, RR 3,
Lucknow; and Marie Trewartha,
RR 4, Clinton.
Fair board officials expect
about 10,000 persons to visit the
fair Friday night and Saturday.
It will be officially opened
Saturday by Ed Star of Toronto,
secretary of the Ontario
Agricultural Society.
Prize money totals $5,000.

The Joyes Midway. will be in
operation tomorrow and again
Saturday when there will be
pony rides and other special
attractions, including a farm
machinery display.
The ladies' division will accept
entries on Friday between 10
a,m. and 2 p.m. That evening the
public is invited to view the
exhibits on display in the arena
auditorium and visit the
concessions on the main floor.
The homemaking section has
been expanded this year, with
many additions to the prize list.
Classes will include arts and
crafts, baking, house plants,
knitting and crocheting,
needlework and sewing.
Saturday's schedule calls for
the parade at 1, followed by the
official opening at 2 p.m. and a
baby show in the Community
Centre half an hour later. The
livestock parade is slated to start
at 3:30 p.m.
The deadline for livestock
entries will be 11 a.m. Saturday.
Judging starts at 1 p.m. Exhibits
must remain until 5 p.m.
There will be a dance
Saturday evening and advance
tickets are on sale at $2.50 a
couple. The Junior Farmers
Square Dance Competition will
be held that night and judging of
teams in harness will take place
at 7 p.m.
