Miss Jean Ivison and her
sister, Mrs. Gretta Torrance, left
London Airport last week to
visit their sister and
brother -in -taw, Mr. and Mrs.
Ermal Owens 'of Salem, Oregon.
Mr. and Mrs, Louis Kirk and
family recently visited Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Kirk atrPort Stanley.
Mrs. Alma Hess,and Mrs. John

at both meetings. The leaders
were Mrs. Harry Almost,
citizenship and social action;
Mrs. J. Axtman, Christian and
missionary education and Mrs.
Bert Alton, community
friendship and visiting. Mrs.
Babensee and Mrs. Gilbert
Beecroft also assisted. The
Consultation Days were well
attended.
In the citizenship and social
action group were seen posters
with such titles as "Was Premier
Roberts speaking for you on
Medicare at the Federal-
Provincial Conference?" "Is
Pierre Berton helping the cause
of the Canadian Indian by his
TV series?" "What is the greatest
problem of the aging?" "Student
Revolt — What is good and what
is bad about it?"
In the afternoon, the
members were asked to prepare
a program from topics found in
the newspapers and other
publications. Interesting and
pertinent skits on poverty and
the plight of the aged and a
topic on drug addiction were
presented.
The community friendship
and visiting representatives
discussed the duties of the
minister, the elders and the UCW
members.
Huronview holds
birthday party
The April birthday party at
Huronview was in charge of the
1-Iurondale Institute. Mrs. Harold
Patterson was convenor for the
program which included a
reading by Mrs. Bev. Morgan,
piano solos by Mrs. Harold
Jeffery and vocal solos by Mrs.
Coattes, accompanied by Mrs.
Andrew Dougall, a reading by
Mrs. Charles Kernick and a
comic apron song by Mrs. Bev..-,
Morgan, Mrs. Louise Oke, Mrs.
William Dougall and Mrs. Charles
Snell.
Birthday gifts were presented

Gentlemen:
1 have audited the accounts and records of the
Town of Clinton for the year ended December 31,
1968, and have prepared therefrom the statements
listed in the index accompanying this report.
OPERATIONS
The operations of the Town of Clinton and its
various Boards and Commissions resulted in the
following surpluses or deficits for the year ended
December 31, 1968.
Town of Clinton — General Account ,surplus $ 2,950.42
Public Utilities Commission:
Water Supply System deficit 6,776.54
Hydro surplus 547.27
Sewerage deficit 11,495.70
Public Library Board deficit 92.02
Clinton Recreation Committee deficit 17,254.82
Clinton District Collegiate
Institute Board deficit 72,650.69
Clinton Public School Board surplus 556.41
Clinton Separate School Board deficit 1,620.23
Clinton Cemetery Board surplus 1,543.55
GENERAL
The Secretary -Treasurer of C.R.C.S.S. Clinton and
Hullett No. 2 does not appear to be covered by
fidelity insurance.
The co-operation and assistance of all employees of
the Town of Clinton with whom I dealt during the
course of my audit was most appreciated.
Subject to the qualifications concerning
1. The lack of fidelity insurance on the
Secretary -Treasurer of C.R.C.S.S. Clinton and
Hullett No. 2
I hereby report that in my opinion
1, The financial transactions which have come under
notice have been within the powers of the
municipality.
2. The audit has been conducted in accordance with
the instructions of the Department of Municipal
Affairs.
3. The financial statements present fairly the financial
position of the municipality as at December 31,
1968, and the results of its operations for the year
ended on that date.
