Obituary
MRS, VIOLET SCHWALM
Mrs. Peter Schwalm, the
former Violet Pfaff of Zurich,
died March 26 in Stratford
General Hospital at the age of
84.
Mrs. Schwalm and her
husband Peter, who died in
1941, moved to Hensall with
their family 30 yearss ago. Mrs.
Schwalm was a member of St.
Peter's Lutheran Church in
Zurich.
Ten of her 12 children
survive; five sons:, Austin of
Stratford, Gordon of HInsall,
Lealand of Hamilton, Karl at
Camp I3orden and Raymond of
Hensall; and five daughters, Mrs.
Arthur (May) O'Hara of
London, Mrs. Jack (Violet)
McFarlane of St. Thomas, Mrs,
Harold (Nelda) Hansen of
Stratford, Mrs. William
(Margaret) Wayne of Peachland,
B.C. and Mrs. Donald (Florence)
Perdue of Ladner, B.C.
Also surviving are 25
grandchildren and 14 great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
last Saturday at St. Peter's
Church with the Rev. A. E.
Blackwell officiating. Burial was
in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Bonthron Funeral Home
handled the arrangements.
Pallbearers, all grandsons of
Mrs. Schwalm, were Charles,
David, Robert • and Richard
Schwalm and Glenn McKenzie.
Flowerbearers were' Peter
O'Hara and Terry Schwalm, also
grandsons.

No one injured
in six crashes
No injuries were reported in
the six auto accidents
investigated last week by the
Goderich Detachment, Ontario
Provincial Police.
Three of ' the accidents
involved ' only single motor
vehicles. The first of these was
March 23 on Highway 8 east of
Goderich and resulted in $80
damage to a car driven by
Telford Bissett, RR 1, Goderich.
The second caused an
estimated $800 damage to a
truck driven by • Brian' Smillie.
RR 2, Hensall and occurred
March 26 on Highway 4 south of
County Road 3.
The third single -car accident
was .on old Highway 21 last
Saturday and resulted in $250
damage to an auto driven by
James Barry, RR 3, Seaforth.
A car -truck collision on
Bissett Hill Road, north of
County Road 31 on March 26
resulted in a total of $500
damage. Drivers were identified
as Brian Siddall of Goderich and
Andrew R. Riehl, RR 4,
Goderich.
Two . minor.;, ,.mishaps ,.took
place last Saturday. In one, cars
owned by Morris E. and
Raymond Scott of Bayfield were
damaged in an accident in a
private driveway on John Street,
Bayfield.
On a parking lot at CFB
Clinton the same day, a car
driven by George A. Parker
struck a parked auto owned by
Henry Belton. Damage was
estimated at $155. Both
motorists live in Adastral Park,
CFB Clinton.

The March meeting of the
Hullett Federation of
Agriculture was held in
Londesboro, Gordon Hill of
Varna was guest speaker but due
to inclement weather the
attendance was small.
Mr. Hill urged that all get out
and promote "One General
Farm Organization." Many
questions were asked and
answered about the farm income
report.
For more information "Our
General Farm Organization" he
said to attend the meeting April
7 at 8:30 p.m. in Londesboro
Hall, where guest speaker,
Lawrence Plaetzer, will urge the
milk producers to be certain to
send in their registration forms.
