Top curlers from .the Town of Clinton and CFS Clinton resumed their struggle for supremacy last
week, When the last rock had been thrown, the military base was declared the victor and Joe Murphy,
who led the town contingent, handed over the coveted trophy to Lt. Col. Otto Hack, representing the
base curlers. As is evident above, Mr. Murphy, despite some grave doubts about the scorekeeper's
impartiality, displayed the sportsmanship which characterizes the true curling devotee and showed no

The Kinsmen POMP'S Suffered
a 10.0 loss In their game with
Tillsonburg in the Young Canada
Hockey Week Pee Wee
tournament at Godetiell• The
next day in London, the Club
came up with its best
performance of the year, earning
a total of 69 points in the ACA
tournament held at Treasure
Gardens.
In the '3.0 contest, both
Richard. Welch and David
Bartliff , played outstandingly in
the nets and goal -getters for
Clinton were Jamie Thompson,
Greg Butler and Bill Irwin.
This weekend the Ponies host
a Pee Wee team from Dearborn,
Mich, On Friday evening both
clubs will travel to Goderich to
watch the A and AA finals in the
Young Canada Week tourney,
Saturday morning at 10 o'clock,
the Dearborn boys play at CFB
Clinton and that evening the
visitors play the town Ponies.
In Squirt play, Rich Kush's D
team clobbered the B club on
Saturday by a 12-0 tally and
now advances into finals against
either A or C. Paul Gibbings led
the way with five goals; Paul
Priestap put in three;, John
Feeney, two; Robert Taylor,
one; and Peter Thompson, one.
In their first game on
Thursday evening last week, the
D team was victorious with a 5-2
final score. Paul Priestap's two
