Plans were discussed for the ankoffering service and it was ided to hold it at the regular rch service April 13 with the PRESBYTERIAN LADIES The Ladies Aid of Knox byterian Church held their ting with Mrs. Youngblut in e chair. The minutes of the evious meeting were accepted read by the secretary, Mrs. y Daer. Several items of siness were discussed and it s . decided to cater to a dding in July. The members o decided to make a quilt in e near future. The meeting was sed by singing grace and nch was served by. Mrs. ithby and Mrs. Bradnock. 4-H GiRLS The fifth meeting of the burn , Kool Kuts 4-H memaking club was held ' at e home of Mrs. Donald Haines. e meeting was opened with e 4-H pledge followed by the nutes read by Doreen Clinchey. The roll call was swered by . each telling one y that their family served rk. There was a discussion by . W. Bradnock on pork cuts d cookery and Mrs. Haines iewedi,the various cuts;of beef d' pork' and told where"they found on the carcass. A demonstration on cooking ston butt and cabbage lowed and Marie Empey and brielle Volme served the mbers. Sharon Collins closed meeting with the 4-H creed. CHURCH SERVICE A special church service will held Sunday at Knox United urch with young people of congregation taking charge the service and discussing the c Alpha convention held at gara Falls. Rey. R, U. MicLean as the speaker. A piano .solo, a medley of favorite hymns, was played by Mrs. Robert J. Phillips. The roll call was answered by each member telling of a Friendship House operated by the Presbyterian Church in Canada, Mrs. John Hallam was in charge of the mission study and continued the study of faiths of the world. She spoke of the Jewish faith and their beliefs and customs. The offering was received by Mrs. Donald Haines and dedicated with prayer by Miss Wagner., who pronounced the benediction. personals Mr. and Mrs. George Rueger, Danny and Terry of St. Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. William Rueger and Carol and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rueger of Clipton visited last Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cartwright and family. Recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Craig were Mr. and Mrs, Neil Hamilton, Klemtu, British Columbia; Miss Jean Hamilton, Miss Nancy Mitchell and Leo Bourgieous, all of Oshawa. Mrs. Craig returned to Oshawa for a few days visit with her sister, Miss Jean Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. Albert McFarlane returned last Friday from a six week's holiday at Lake Worth, Florida. Mrs. Ralph Munro returned home last Thursday from a two week's visit with her son, Mr. Donald Youngblut, Mrs. Youngblut and family in London. Stephen Haggitt returned last Friday from Clinton Hospital where he had been a patient for several days following an operation. Miss Nancy Anderson was practise -teaching at Clinton Public School last week. She is a student at Stratford Teachers' College. - Master Michael Haggitt of Zurich is spending the holidays with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Haggitt, and Mr. Stephen Haggitt. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Morris, Monique and Matthew of London spent the weekend with Mrs. Morris' mother, Mrs. Dorothy Grange, and the Misses Jennifer and Shelley Grange. Peter Brown of Windsor spent the weekenda,with •MrtsandtMrs.e Maitland Allen.' Mr. and Mrs. •Robert Needham of Goderich were guests on Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. William Stiles. Jim Graham of Gorrie, student teacher at Stratford Teachers' College, visited last Monday evening while he was practise -teaching at Victoria School, Goderich, Ronald Arthur of Unionville spent the weekend with his uncle, Mr. Harry Arthur, Mrs. Arthur, Mark and Greg and Miss Judy Arthur of Owen- Sound, who is still convalescing at her home. Miss Margo Macintosh of London is spending her vacation with her friend, Miss Frances I-Iouston. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Maclntosh, were guests last Saturday at the Houston home. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Finnigan and her mother, Mrs. Laura Fowler of Goderich, visited on Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs, Robert J. Phillips. Fourteen classmates of Master Clifford Branton gave a farewell party to him last Saturday afternoon. They all went to the movies at Goderich and all returned to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon McLennan where a party dinner was served. Assisting Mrs. McLennan were Mrs. Gordon Powell, Mrs. Donald Cartwright and Mrs. Cliff Branton. Rod McLennan presented Clifford with a wallet and in it was pictures of all the friends at the party. , Mrs. Gordon Dobie spent the weekend in Toronto with her sister. • Mrs. Gordon Taylor returned home last Sunday after a three-week vacation spent in Florida. Clinton woman is delegate to UCW parley Mrs. George Potter of Clinton is one of seven delegates from Huron -Perth United Church Women Presbyterial to ` the annlualmmeeting of the ritlndon Confeiience of UCW in Sarnia at the end of this month. The main speaker for the three-day confab is to be the Rev. C.H.F. Forsyth, secretary of the church's Board of Evangelism and Social Service, and former secretary to the Hon, Louis Robichaud, premier of New Brunswick.
