Bantams lose to Forest I finish
• BY BERT CLIFFORD
The Clinton Fish and Game
Bantams had to content
themselves with being the "B"
runner-up team again this year.
They lost to a well -drilled and
organized team from Forest by
an 8-6 score in the final game at
Harriston last Sunday. After two
periods of play, the . score was
tied 3-3. Paul Kay banged in a
Paul Kelly pass to give Clinton
its first goal after Forest
connected on two earlier shots,
Bill Crawford lied the score
on a close -in shot. Forest's third
goal came from a hard shot
which hit "Swanky" Andrews in
the shoulder and dropped in
behind him for a goal. Big Barry
Edgar evened up the score on a
wicked blast which popped out
of the goalie's glove and into the
net.
With Clinton a man short,
Forest took advantage of the
opportunity to score a quick
goal at the start of the third
period. Clinton bounced back on
a nice goal by Paul Kelly from
Barry Edgar. Forest, which has a
full team of strong skaters, took
control of the game midway
through the period to score two
consecutive goals to give them a
6-4 lead.
Barry Edgar set up Linky
Langille to close the score 6-5,
but a soft goal shortly after gave
Forest an edge of two again and
they followed up with another
