In the lone home game of the
week, the Crediton Tigers last
Thursday evening edged Clinton
12-8 in a hard-hitting game. The
Tigers were aided by a seven -goal
effort by Fred Lamb.
In the Arthur game last
Monday evening, Harvey Dale
scored two and earned one
assist. Singles were scored by
Bud Boyes, Randy Glew, Paul
Draper, Fred Parsons and by
newcomer Rich Lawley. .
The Crediton game started
off with a disputed Tiger goal at
..7:01 of the first period. A
minute later, Fred Lamb scored
his first of seven goals, mostly
long shots from the bluelines.
Clinton tied the score on Grant
VolIand's goal on a rebound
from Lawley and Fred Parsons'
hard slap shot.
Bob Livermore gave Clinton
the lead on a beautiful goal set
up by Dale and Bayes 15
seconds after Parsons scored.
Crediton struck early in the
second period to go ahead 6-3
before Paul Draper bounced in a
goal at 17:19.
The final period was
dominated by a scoring display
by Fred Lamb. - He flashed the
red light at 1;01, 3;12 and 6:45
to maintain the lead for the
Tigers. In between Lamb's goals,
Don McDougall finished off a
nice play with Paul Draper at
2;26, then Livermore netted his
second goal of the night — again
on a neat passing combination
with Boyes and Dale.
Every time the game seemed
to be going in Clinton's favour,
Lamb scored to keep the lead.
Lamb's goals at 8:01 and
9:22 were long shots, The fifth
goal of the period by Lamb
came only eight seconds after
Boyes scored at 9:14.
At that point in the game,
Gary Black replaced Robbie
Farquhar who fell victim to
Lamb's marksmanship. The
period ended with Livermore's
third goal of the night and a
finishing one by Paul Young to
give Crediton its four -goal
margin in the 12.8 tally:
The Colts clobbered Wingham
10-6 in a Saturday evening match
in the radio town. The club
spotted Wingham the first goal
of the game, then bombarded
the Wingham goalie with five
unanswered goals.
Livermore and Boyes scored
the Colts' opening goals, then
the "Scooter" line came
' through with four goals -two
each from the sticks of Paul
Draper and Randy Glew.
