Two charges were laid under the Criminal Code. Warnings were issued to 21 persons; six requests for Clinton blasts Elora Colts, 12; Rocks, 5 The scoring punch was spotlighted in last Friday night's hockey action at the Clinton Community Centre. With the W,O.A..A. Intermediate 'C” game against the Elora Rocks all tied up 5-5, midway through the second period, the Clinton Colts connected for seven more goals without an answer from their opponents. , Leading the way with hat tricks were "Little Joe" Livermore, Harvey Dale and Don McDougall, Final tally on the scoreboard showed the Colts with 12 goals, the Rocks with only five. . The game started out as a seesaw affair. Harvey Dale scored early on a pass from Bud Boyes, but Elora tied the score at 9:24. Livermore gave Clinton the lead again on a goal at 10:29, only to see Elora match it on Gammie's first goal at 18:23. That finished the first period scoring. At the 33 -second mark of the second period, Dale collected his second goal on a screen shot set up perfectly by Boyes and Macaulay. Six minutes later Randy Glew fired a quick shot from the blue line to give Clinton a 4-2 edge. Two defensive lapses by Clinton opened the doors for quick goals by Elora at 8:28 and 9;45, again bringing the totals even. Clinton's next goal was a perfect play by Livermore. He pulled the goalie almost right out of his skates before tucking the puck in the net. Gammie tied the score 5 all 'with Doug Macaulay in the penalty box. Only two penalties were assessed, both to Clinton. Coach Mait Edgar picked up a two -minute minor in the third period. Seconds before Macaulay picked up his penalty, he had thrown one ' of the Elora attackers right over his back on one of his great hip checks. In the game Friday and the one the night before, a remarkable difference was discerned in the way Clinton's defence hit and blocked plays around the Colts' • net. Both Macaulay and Butch Murney let go some wicked shots from the point to help set up some of Clinton's goals. With the good defensive work came some amusing skating and good pass plays by the Colts. The high scoring line scored again at 16:04 of the second by Bud Boyes. All three players, Livermore, Dale and .Boyes, had pokes at a rebound before Boyes jammed the puck under Elora's goalie. McDougall scored the next two markers, both on breakaways. The first one was set up by Harvey Dale and the Second was a quick pass up the centre from defenceman, Fred Parsons. A hard slap shot from Parsons at the blueline put Clinton ahead 8-5. Twenty-seven seconds later, McDougall finished a perfect evening with his third breakaway goal of the game. It had to be McDougalI's, best game as an intermediate and if he can k: skating the way he did Frid the Colts are going to be hard beat. Livermore and Dale finis Mit the scoring at 11:23. 15:27 with their third goals the game, In the lineup for his game, Grant Volland playe. good game at right wing w Ray Brawn and Dan Freem Volland started out in. Intermediate "0" League when it battled Clinton in a game at the arena here last Thursday. After struggling to a 3-3 draw in the , first period, the Dominions outhustled and outscored the Clinton Colts 3-1 in the next period and they held on to the strong lead until the seven -minute mark in the final period when Harvey Dale closed the gap to one point, 6-5. The game really became exciting as each club had good scoring chances, but the two goalies, Ross Schlatzhauer for Milverton and Bary Black for Clinton, shut out the potential scorers. In the last minute of play, Coach Mait Edgar yanked Black in favour of a sixth attacker, but the play backfired when Raymond Kerr fired a long clearing shot into the open net. Clinton took an early lead on two beautiful scoring plays — first a long shot from the blueline by Fred Parsons, then a three-way passing play with Bob Livermore finishing off for his first goal of the game. Ed Erb slapped in a long shot at 8:29 of the opening period to put Milverton on the scoreboard. Two minutes later, Tom Collings pulled Black out- of'the net to tie Colts the score. Clinton took the 1 back in 40 seconds on dipsy-doodling • by 1 McDougall. As the period was finishi Dick Harrow blasted anot long shot to tie the score. The second period was Milverton's. The Dominio skating ability and knack always be on the p overpowered Clinton with th goals — two by Bob Gropp. and a single by Murray Kerr. "Little Joe" scored Clinto lone goal in the second on power play. He pulled the go. out after Dale hit him wit perfect pass. Except for good solid check thrown Coach Malt Edgar, the Clint squad went back into non -checking game in the seco period, The third period was different story; the forwa were flying and moving the p well and only some brill'. goaltending kept Clinton fry scoring. Big Butch Murney player' strong period with backchecking and made boards rattle with his wici slap shot on three occasions. the 10 penalties assessed by J Lee, and Doug O'Brien, Clin fell victim ,to -three two -ruin minors.
