Following is a brief list of apparel to include in skiing outfits: 1. Long underwear is a must. Most slacks are wind and snow resistant but have very little warmth in themselves. Thermol type underwear is considered best. 2. A pair of heavy wool outer socks and a pair of light inner wool or cotton socks' are best for all-round comfort. 3. The first point to watch for in ski pants is that they are win d-resistant and water-repellent. Heavy weight isn't necPsRfiry as the inner Is winter just a time of trial for you? It needn't be just months of difficult driving and snow shovelling. Through ski-touring or cross-country skiing, winter can become for you a time of special pleastilre and beauty: This activity offers you the means of coming into close contact with the winter wilds at an exhilarating yet peaceful tinie of year. Skiing through woods and across hills, you have the chance to observe at close range, leisurely and unself-consciously, the country and its inhabitants. clothes supply the necessary warmth, They should allow your knees to bend easily and should fit snugly Without being tight. 4. The ski jacket must be warm, windproof and cover the waist well. It should have a hood and a zipper pocket for small articles when you take a tumble. It should be roomy enough for a sweater underneath. 5. Leather mitts over wool mitts. are best for really cold weather. Mitts or gloves should have sturdy leather palms and elastic at the wrist to keep out the snow. 6. As for headgear, whether you wear a headband or toque, be sure it is tight enough to stay on when you are speeding down a hill. 7. Goggles with coloured lenses protect the eyes from glare and, driving snow. On sunny days or in a blizzard, you can see clearly where you are going at all times. It offers you a chance for peace and quiet or a novel experience for excitement and challenge, a chance "to get away from it all" or to make friends in a touring group.
