buzz with acHvity
Visited the Municipal
Buildings on Thursday last and
found it a hive of activity. In
one room the .Cubs were
enjoying their weekly meeting
under the leadership of Don
Johnston.
In the other room Scouts
were attentive, as Scout Leader,
Percy Renner gave instructions
in handling firearms and Joe
Mayman conducted a lesson the
repair and maintenance of lawn
mowers.
Jim Francis, who could not
be present, is also' acting as a
firearms instructor in the new
"Scout 68" programme. This
'new programme is slanted
towards the needs of "Today"
and utilizes the assistance of
local craftsman to demonstrate
their ' knowledge to the boys.
While still reconizing the value
of "Knot tying" the New
Programme endeavours to
respond to 1968 technology.
