On Tuesday evening,
November 12, the . regular
meeting of the Madeleine Lane
Auxiliary of St. Andrews'
Presbyterian Church was held in
the Sunday School room of the
church with 17 members
present.
The meeting opened, with the
singing of Hymn 538, after
which Mrs. R. Rudd read Psalm
24 and Mrs. Allan Graham led in
prayer. A Remembrance Day
message was given by Mrs. R.
Gibb.
The secretary read several
thank-you cards from members
who had been hospitalized. The
group was informed that a gift
had been given to, one of the
members, Mrs. Robert J. Smith,
who is leaving Clinton and
,taking up residence An Goderich.
,ttebltd.-Ofesident; 'Mrs. 'HO'rhuth,
told the 'ladies' that the auxiliary
would be responsible for the
hospital cart for the month of
December. Several of the ladies
volunteered to help with' this
project. A . nominating
committee was appointed to
bring in a new slate of officers
by the December meeting. The
December meeting will be in the
form of a pot-luck supper to be
held at the church on Tuesday,
December 10 at 6:30 p.m. Gifts
will be exchanged at this
meeting.

Church, Clinton, was held in the
Christian Education wing of the
ourch recently.

experience gained in performing

Presbyterian Church staged a
successful bazaar and tea in the
Sunday School room of the
church,
Greeting the guests At the„
door was the president of the
auxiliary, Mrs. Rnhert Honinth,
and the minister's wife, Mrs. R.
U. MacLean. At precisely three
o'clock Reverend MacLean
officially opened the bazaar and
from then on the ladies were
kept very busy selling the large
display of homemade baking,
Christmas puddings and cakes,
candy, aprons, calendars and
Christmas centrepieces,
Tie tea-room was decorated
for this occasion in the
traditional blue and white of St.
Andrews', At the entrance was a
tall, delicate blue cut-glass vase
filled with silver money-plant
and the wall opposite bore a
large plaque etched in blue and
white, bearing the words
"Welcome to St. Andrews'.
Lacy white designs on dark
blue backgrounds surrounded by
shiny silver maple leaves
enhanced the other walls. The
large tea-table with a white linen
cover was centred with a floral
arrangement of white cushion
mums interspersed with trailing
ivy and lacy green fern and
flanked on either side by
deep-blue tapers in silver
holders.
Tiny doll choristers decorated
the booths and at each of the
eight tea tables was a saucy little
blue and silver sputnik mounted
on a dark blue base.
Members of the auxiliary
assisting at the bazaar included:

Frank. Mutch, Mrs. Wm.
Thomson, Mrs. R. Rudd, Miss

and Tuckersmith Townships,
the Town of Seaforth and
the Village of Bayfield.
Having been nominated as a candidate for the
Huron County School Board, I respectfully solicit
your support at the polls on December 2nd.
I feel qualified for this position, having been
affiliated with School Boards since 1959, serving as
Chairman ' of 'HUrcin 'Cou,ntyctSchool,,Ar:ea
since it was footed 'in 1965 and serving-as Vice
Chairman of the Huron Interim School
Organization Committee which is a COmmittee set
up to assist in the formation of the County Board.
I feel I have gained valuable experience in the
construction and the setting up of the educational
program of Huron Centennial School at Brucefield.
strongly urge that every eligible voter Get Out
and Vote in this important election.
