Pink gladioli and white mums
formed the setting for the
candlelight ceremony uniting
Carol Berneice IVIcIlwain and Paul
Wayne Dixon in North Street
United Church, Goderich, on
November 9. Reverend J.
Donald McDonald officiated at
the double-ring ceremony. The
organist was Mrs. Murray
Hetherington and the soloist,
Grant Ellison, sang "The
Wedding Prayer" and "0 Perfect
Love".
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs, Stanley McIlwain,
Goderich and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton
Dixon of Clinton.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, chose a gown of
cloud white satin faille, softly
silhouetted with deep bands of
Venise lace threaded with satin
ribbon garnishing the throat and
flowing down the back into a
chapel train. Her tiered veil of
white 'tulle illuSion sprinkled
.with tiny.iyearls, fell .r from a•
Icluster of satin bows and seed
Vearls. •Sheneatriell ("an call) white ,
single Duchess Rose.
The matron of honour was
Mrs. William Rivett of Goderich,
cousin of the bride. The
bridesmaids were Miss Cathy
Mdlwain, sister of the bride, and
Miss Della Allen, both of
Goderich.
The attendants were
identically dressed in floor
length gowns of Poppy pink
baby ottoman: Bands of white
Venise lace threaded with rose
satin ribbon repeated the decor
of the brides' dress. Their
matching bonnets of stiffened
petals were held with satin bows.
They carried an all white single
Glamellia.
Groomsman was James Smith
of Goderich. Guests were
ushered by Walter Mdlwain of
Goderich, brother of the bride
and John Dixon of Clinton,
brother of the groom.
The reception was held in the
church hall, decorated with
white' mums and pink gladioli.

dress of ivory oyster textured

accessories and a corsage of
bronze feathered mums, The
groom's mother wore a dress of
aqua imported ribbonese and
matching accessories with a
corsage of red sweetheart roses.
For travelling, the bride
'donned a three piece beige wool
tweed,• fur trimmed suit with
brown accessories and a corsage
of yellow sweetheart roses.
Following a wedding trip
through ,New York State and
eastern Ontario, the couple will
reside at , 88 Britannia road west,
Goderich. Both the bride and
groom are on the staff at the
Goderich Psychiatric. Hospital.
Wedding guests were present
from Timmins, London, Sarnia,
Wallaceburg, Sebringville,,
Exeter, Seaforth, Clinton and
surrounding locations. Following
the cFriday ,Inight,•rehearsal, the
groom's parents entertained the
cwedding,iparty ,,andu friends at
their home in Clinton.
Calvin United Church, St.
Helens, decorated with ferns,
was the setting for the marriage
of. Nancy Dianne Cranston, and
William Wayne Grigg on
Saturday, October 5.
Reverend B. F. Green of St.
Helens performed the double
ring ceremony. Mrs. Tom
Pritchard of Lucknow was
organist.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Ross
Cranston of RR 2, Lucknow.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. William Richard Grigg of
Clinton.
Given in • marriage by her
father, the bride chose a gown of
embroidered peau de soie and
carried a •bouquet of roses and
stephanotis. She wore earrings
and a matching bracelet, a gift of
the groom.
Maid of honour was Patricia
Cranston, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Kathy Grigg of
Clinton, sister of the groom and
Betty Hetsler of Kincardine.
Junior bride 'maid was Corinne
Cranston, sister of the bride.
They • all wore gowns of gold
moira with matching head pieces
and •their flowers were 'bronze
Starburst mums.
Groomsman was William
Shaddick of Toronto. Ushers
were Richard Grigg of Clinton,
Gordon Hunt of Clifford and
Barry Broughton of Windsor.
A dinner followed at the
Lucknow' Legion Hall. The
tables were decorated with
candles and gold mums. Gr "aid
Crooks of Kincardine was
toastmaster. ;
The groom's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. William Grigg, entertained
later at a reception at their
home, Clinton.
The bride's mother chose a
plum crimplene dress with
matching feathered hat, black
accessories and corsage of yellow

Winnipeg and United States the
bride's travelling costume was a
grey double knit dress with gold
trim, gold coat, black accessories
and corsage of red roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Grigg will reside
in Kingsville, where the groom is
a member of the Bank of
Montreal staff. The bride was
formerly employed at the Ann
Beauty Salon, Kincardine.
Guests were present from
Clinton, Fergus, London,
Windsor, Collingwood, Seaforth,
Strathroy, Toronto, Clifford,
Kincardine, St. Catharines,
Kingsville, Clinton, Lucknow
and St. Helens.
Prior to her marriage the
bride was honoured at a shower
in the St. Helens Hall; a shower
at Mrs. Elsie Crooks, Kincardine;
a relative shower at Clinton at
the home of Mrs. John Grigg,
aunt of the groom.
Amid a setting of candelabra
and baskets of white mums and
bronze pours, Suzanne. Marie
Pugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Percy Pugh of Clinton, and
Donald Joseph Swan, son of Mr.,
and Mrs. Harold Swan, also of
Clinton, exchanged marriage
vows in Ontario Street United
Chtirch here -on Saturday,
November 2, with the Reverend
Grant Mills officiating for the
double-ring ceremony.
Mrs. --Gurnos James,
accompanied by Miss Lois
Grasby at the organ, sang "This
Is Our Day," "The Lord's
Prayer" and "I'll Walk Beside
You,"
Given in marriage by her
father, ,the bride chose a
traditional floor-length gown of
,'Lagoda crepe, featuring a
scooped. neckline. Exquisite
Belgian lace formed a front
panel. and also trimmed the
elbow-length sleeves.
A detachable chapel train
swept from the baCk of the
A-line dress. A double crown of
guipure lace held the four-tiered
scalloped- illusion veil in place.
The bride, :carried a white bible,
covered with orange delight
roses and showered with fern
and white pools.
Mrs, Larry McClinchey,
Clinton, was matron of honour.
Bridesmaids were the Misses
Elizabeth Zondag, of Stratford
and Cathy Noble of Clinton.
The attendants were dressed
alike in floor-length gowns
fashioned from emerald green
peau de soie in cage.style, with
roll effect on high neckline, cage
sleeves and hem-line.
Wedding ring headpieces of
matching fabric with crown veils
completed the arrangement.
They carried bouquets of bronze
mums with various coloured
ribbons.
Larry McClinchey of Clinton
was best man. Ushers were Mitch
FOwler of Auburn and David
Pugh of Clinton, brother of the
bride.
For receiving• guests at the
'Hotel Clinton, the bride's
mother chose a strawberry-pink
dress with matching jacket,
black accessories and a corsage
' of white gardenias,
For a trip to northern
Ontario,' the bride wore a silver
brocade A-line dress, a beige fur
coat and hat, Black accessories
and a corsage of orange delight
roses completed her outfit. On'
their •return,- the newlyweds will
live in Clinton=,
