A wedding trip to New York
State followed the marriage of
Ruth Ann Cudmore and Larry
Roy Johnson in Hensall United
Church recently. Reverend
•Harold F. Currie performed the
ceremony amid a floral
background of lighted white
tapers in candelabra, ferns and
bronze moms.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harold T.
Cudmore, RR 1 Hensel', and the
groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Rov T, Johnson. London.
Given in Marriage by her
father the 'bride was gowned in a
floor-length A-line wedding
gown of lace over bridal taffeta.
A lace train bound with satin fell
from her shoulders. Her orchid
and pearl headpiece caught a
four-tiered veil and she carried
orchids, bronze mums and white
ribbon on a white Bible,

Huron County, Mr. E, V. Hall,

outlined some of the new
procedures to be undertaken by
the County Aasessmen,t system
in 1969.

had not met in 21 years.
Stanley McDonald, a former
Clinton resident who moved to
Saskatchewan in 1957 to serve
as lay preacher for the
Tynan-Osage' United Church
Charges and in 1964 became
minister of two United Church
congregations —in Regina, was
ordained in Knox Metropolitan
Church, Regina, last week.
November meeting of the
Legion Ladies Auxiliary was
held last Tuesday evening, in the
Legion Ilan} November ehaired
by President Mrs. Garnet

London, Wednesday November
13. The Christmas party for the
children of the members will be
held December 15.
At the December meeting
members will exchange gifts.

of officers were held, Tickets on

handed out. Mrs. Stan Kochen
won the mystery prize, Mrs.
Hilda Smale the guessing prize,
and Mrs. Grant McClinchey the
attendance prize. A social hour
of bingo and lunch served.

SIGN MAN FALLS
Walter Parker, 56, RR 1
Delaware, was admitted to St.
Joseph's Hospital, London, after
falling 25 feet from a ladder
while cleaning a neon,sign at the
Larry Snider Motor Sales lot,
Exeter, last Thursday.
Hospital officials say he is
being treated for leg injuries, Mr.
Parker an employee of Eaves
Sign Service, London, was taken
to the London hospital by
Westlake Ambulance Service,
Zurich.

by train from London in a
reserved coach to Ottawa where
they toured the Parliament
Building, viewed Parliament in
session from the gallery, toured
the Royal Mint, Museum of
Science and Technology and the
City of Ottawa. They left last
Thursday at noon and arrived
home at 2 a.m. Sunday. More
than 100 students from the same
grade of Arts and Science took
the , trip and while in Ottawa
stayed at the Hotel Chateau
Laurlier. They were accompanied

40th ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley
Mitchell, R.R. 1, Hensall,
observed their 40th wedding
anniversary last Sunday. Their
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Elgin Hendrick of R.R. 1,
Grand Bend, arranged a party, in
their honour at Grand Bend
Saturday evening, attended by
relatives. The celebrants were
presented with many beautiful
gifts including a purse of money.
Their marriage . was
solemnized in Hensall United
Church Manse by the late
Reverend Arthur Sinclair, and
they have lived since on the
Mitchell Homestead farm, east
of Hensall.
They have just one daughter,
Mrs. Hendrick, and ' two
grandchildren.
