Father JOe Prirneau, •director of Renewal '69, said: "The second phase of Renewal '69 is Very appealing; because it is a short term operation, and because it has definite goals. We have had calls at the Renewal Centre during the week for extra materials because so many persons are looking forward to get involved in the Reflection Groups. We feel that there will be many side effects from this phase, such as a deeper bond of unity among the people• of each local congregation, a greater respect of each other, and more responsible Christians." This chapter began at 6 p.m. and could be sub-titled a mystery. Then it became a drama for several hours, which took us into the next morning and finally around 10 a.m. it ended in tragedy. Although there were computer problems during the returns, all' three networks did fine reporting jobs. The CBS anchor man, Walter Cronkite, must be made of iron. I saw him at 6:80 and he seemed to go on and on without it becoming boring. During the evening, I switched to Huttley and Brinkley on NBC, and ABC's Howard K. Smith. After retiring at 1:30 a.m., I checked CBS at 3:30 and Cronkite was still at the desk. He would have been a better candidate than Nixon, Humphrey or Wallace. * * * Another Bob Hope special I 11)1 HOTEL • CLINTON A Fall Qrarti conference will be held, in the .auditorium of oaerich District Collegiate Tpstitute on Friday , and Saturday, Novpmber l li an.i 16.
