Auburn, was filled to capacity
last Sunday for its annual
anniversary' Service. The church
Was beautifully decorated with
bouquets of yellow and bronze
chrysanthemums.
The church organist, Mrs.
Norman Wightman, was in
charge of the music, The guest
singers were the Snell sisters of
Londesboro who sang two trio
numbers, "For you I am
praying" and "Santur".

held with the first vice-president,
Donna Chamney, opening it
with the 4-H pledge, The

The roll call was answered by
each telling the highlight of their
record books and these were on

Plans • were discussed for
Achievement Day and Jean
Hardy will be the commentator
on the exhibit, Good Lines for
Different Figures. The meeting
was closed by repeating the 4-H
Creed.

A Korean foster child will
have more gifts and treats as a
result of the bazaar and home
baking sale held by the members
of the Walkerburn club last.
-Saturday' afternoon in the
Auburn Community Memorial
Hall. The president, Mrs. Ted
Hunking, ,opened the sale and
welcomed' all the guests. Cakes,
pies, tarts, buns, bread and
candy were on sale as well
vegetables and potted plants,
Tea was also served to the guests
present.

Teen town
holds vote
Bob Cooper, RR 4 Clinton, is
the new president of Clinton
Teen Town. He and other
members of the group's
executive were elected last
Friday night at a dance held in,
the-Community-Centre.--
Other officers chosen were
Steve McDonald, vice-president;
Ken Slade, treasurer, and Paul
Swan, secretary.
Runners-up, all of whom will
serve on an advisory board or as
committee heads, include
Robert Byers, Bonnie McLean,
Sue Smith, Rick Zablocki, Ruth
Murphy, Clare Proctor, Bob
Paquet, Barb Ball and Sharon
Carter.
The Teen Town's next
weekend dance will be held at
the arena a week from tomorrow
from 9 to 12 p.m. Admission
will be $1. Music will be by The
Eyes. Turnout at last week's
dance was estimated at 400.
The new president said
yesterday that plans are being
made to hold weekly dances
rather than following last year's
pattern of dances only every two
weeks.

Clinton Junior Farmers . and

County Agricultural office with
30 members answering the roll

Jamieson Ribey introduced
the guest speaker, Reverend
Glen Wright of Dungannon,
John Rodgers thanked Mr.
Wright for his inspiring address.
Walter Mcilwain reported on the
success of the Pow Wow held, at
Auburn and Bob Hickey
reported on the benefit dance
held for Mr. and Mrs. Larry
Johnston who recently lost their
barn through fire.
A committee was set up to
hold a benefit dance for Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Stewart who also lost
their barn. John Black reported
on' the entries for the public
speaking contest and he also
stated that a special accident
survey was underway during the
corn harvest..
The meeting was adjourned
and Walter Mcllwain led in
recreation while lunch was
getting ready to be served.

Mr. Ross Andrews is a patient
in Goderich hospital. His friends
wish him a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Fordyce Clark
spent the weekend in Toronto
with relatives.
Mrs, John Hannah returned
to her home in Toronto after
spending two weeks with Miss
Margaret R. Jackson.
Mr. and Mrs, Sam Russel of
Scarboro visited on the weekend
with Mrs. Ralph Munro.

Mrs. Sam Daer is a patient in
Clinton hospital where she is
suffering from a fractured ankle.

W. R. Cooper, 67, of Kippen,
passed away in Victoria
Hospital, London, Saturday,
October 19, where he had been a
patient since July. Mr. Cooper
farmed and was a thresher for 22
years. He was a member of
Kippen United Church.
Left to mourn his loss are his
wife, the former Rheo McCurdy,
three sons, Donald and Ray of
Exeter and Gerald of Toronto;
two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Gwen)
Campbell of Sarnia and Mrs.
Gordon (Elaine) Harkness of
Parkhill; two sisters, Mrs.
William (Grace) Lawson of
Listowel and Mrs. Margaret
Johnson of Toronto; twenty
grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. '
Public funeral service was
held Tuesday, October 22, at 2
p.m. from the Bonthron Funeral
Home, Hensall, with Reverend
Donald Stuart officiating.
Interment in Baird's Cemetery,
Brucefield. Pallbearers were six
grandsons, Gerald, Don, Gary,
Jack and Michael Cooper and
Dennis Harkness.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Sturgeon,
Jo-Anne, David and Jayne of
Bayfield visited Thanksgiving
weekend with the latter's sister
and brother-in-la.w, Mr. and Mrs,
Wayne Pridham, Nancy Mae and
Billy of Cromarty.

of Cromarty, Mr. and Mrs, Andy
McLean of Cromarty and Mrs.
Lloyd Lostell of Kippen
attended the plowing match near
Guelph on Saturday.

Masonic Lodge attended the
Turkey Banquet in. the
Community Hall on Thursday
evening. Mr. Harry Tebbett
proposed a toast to _Grand
Lodge. Bill Leiper responded.

to which Mrs. Bert Lyon

U.C.W, met on Monday evening
with a full attendance, The
13erean unit were guests. The
highlight of the evening was.
reached When Mrs. Hall of Rlyth
gave a splendid discourse of her
recent visit to Kenya, Africa.
She also showed interesting
pictures of the people; scenery
and many of the native animals,
Mrs, Tom Duizer thanked .Mrs,
Hall on behalf of the unit, A
dainty lunch and social hour was
enjoyed at the close.
Mr. Bert Brunsdon has
recently been transferred to the
Kallander Nursing Home at
Brussels, We hope the change
will be of benefit to him.
Mrs. Milly Bentham of
Oshawa is spending a few weeks
with her sister, Mrs. Townsend.
Mrs. Ron Neil and infant son,
Douglas, of London are spending
a few days with her mother, Mrs.
Laura Lyon.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cooper and
son, Jim, of Ethel were Sunday
visitors with Mrs. Laura Lyon.
