register for evening classes.
The following classes need approximately ten more
registrants in order for a class to be started, Subject to
obtaining the necessary registrants, the classes will begin
the week of October 21.

Fellowship Hall of the United
Church on Thursday, October 3
with leader Mrs. James
McAllister presiding.
The devotional was given by
Mrs. Elizabeth Riley reading
sacred passages from Psalm 100.
And articles were read by
Clare Burt on "Farming in
Japan", "Lets think it over",
"Thanksgiving to Farmers for
food supplied even from all over
the Land", Mrs. Luther led in
prayer.
Mrs. Grace Marpole favoured
with a piano selection. Roll call
was responded by 28 members.
Visitation was recorded,' This
unit will be in charge of flowers
for the church and the nursery
for the month of November.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Howe
whO have been visiting the
latter's sister Mrs. R. M. Peck,
and also with relatives in Niagara
Falls, left Monday of this week
for their winter home in Tucson,
Arizona.
Twenty-five members of
Hensall Legion Ladies Auxiliary
attended a dinner banquet at
Dominion Hotel, Zurich on
Tuesday evening October 1.
The occasion was celebration
of the' 19th anniversary of the
Auxiliary.
The meeting which followed
the dinner was chaired by
president Mrs. Garnet Allan. •
Ten dollars was donated to
the C.N.LB.
Highlights of the Ladies
Auxiliary to the Legion
convention held at Ottawa were
given by Mrs. Allan and Mrs.
Grant Bisback who attended as
delegates.
Bowling teams will
participate in the bowling
tournament 'at Exeter this
month,
Sports committee, Mrs.
Clarence Reid and Mrs. William
Smale, are planning for a social
in the near future.

challenging discourse.

flowers, fruits and vegetables.

traditionally set aside for the
public to support the work of
the Canadian Institute for the

Harlem Diplomats, an internationally known team of basketball comedians, will play at Central
Huron Secondary School against the Faculty and Senior Allstars on. Saturday, October 19, starting at
8 p.m. The Diplomats have recently played in Mexico, Jamaica, Nassau, Brazil and Venezuela. They
will also present basketball's most spectacular "magic circle", in darkness, with only shoes visible and
a glowing basketball. The. Diplomats are sponsored by the CHSS Athletic Association.

to a special assignment in

legislation affecting farmers.

The statement of .Revenue and Expenditures shows a surplus for the year of $158.40, The year 1967 Budget Estimates have been shown on this statement for the PurPose of comparison.
The financial statements include an amount of $4,770.38 due from the Township of Stanley for the Adjustment.of assets and liabilities as of the first day of January, 1965, for which agreement has not been reached nor payments received as of this date,
Subject to the above, I report that in my opinion;
(1) The financial transactions that have come to my attention have been within the powers of the municipality.
(2) The audit has been conducted in accordance with the instructions of the Department of MuniCipal Affairs.
(3) The financial statements present fairly the financial position of the municipality as at December 31, 1967 and the
results of its operations for the year ended on that date, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles applied on a basis consistent with that of the preceding year.
