Down came the rains on Tuesday afternoon after the CHSS
Junior and Senior football teams were dressed and ready for
practice. Within minutes the field ''as awash and the Juniors
undaunted by the rain sloshed through drills. Pictured above is a

comprised of Joan Dew, Verna
and Beth Christie. Guest Soloist
was Gary Scholl of Hensall. The
choir under the direction of Mrs.
A. Ross rendered a selection..
Rev. Harold F. Cuirie assisted
with the service. A. large
congregation was present for the
service. Lovely flowers in
autumn tones decorated the
church.
Miss ,Ann Mickle left last
Friday for London where she •
will enter her third year at the
University of. Western Ontario.

Lodge, visited patients at the
Queensway - Nursing Home
Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 18
and entertained them with
recordings Tollowed with treats
enjoyed by the 18 patients.

Corbett presided for the regular
meeting of Amber Rebekah
Lodge.' Wednesday evening, Sept.
18. A letter was read informing
of the visit of District Deputy
president Mrs. Mary Lowe of
Brussels to the second meeting
Oct. 16 to install officers for
1968-69.
It was decided to invite all
members of Brussels Lodge to
attend the installation of
officers.
Mrs. Ellen Walker who
celebrated a birthday Sept. 19
was presented with a bouquet of
flowers and members are asked
to remember her with cards.
Following the meeting a silent
auction of produce, baking,
plants, was held. Mrs. Inez
McEwen, Mrs. Pearl Shaddick
were in charge of this project. A
social hour was enjoyed and
lunch served.

The sympathy of the
community is extended to
Melvin Elliott, R.R. 1, Zurich,
who had his right arm
amputated in a combine on his
farm Wednesday afternoon,
Sept. 18.
Westlake Ambulance Service,
Zurich, with police escort from
Exeter Town Police and London
Police. rushed the injured man to
St. Joseph's Hospital, London,
where surgery was performed.
At date of writing he was in
satisfactory condition.
Highland road United
Church, Kitchener, was the
setting for the wedding of Lynda
Shawn Daniells and Lawrence H.
Steffler on Saturday, September
14, at 4 p.m. Rev. A. E. Holley
performed the double-ring
ceremony.'
The bride is the eldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant
Daniells, 234 Heiman street,
Kitchener and granddaughter of
Mr. Alex Inkley, Clinton. The
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Lawrence W. Steffler, 35
Pleasant avenue, Kitchener.
Given in marriage by her
father, the birde wore a gown of
hand-cut French , chantilly lace,
styled with an empire waist,
iagoda crepe front panel, long
lily-point sleeves and built-in
chapel train. A pearl encrusted
petal headpiece held her tiered
silk illusion veil and she carried a
cascade bouquet of blue roses
and stephanotis.
Mrs. Rhea Steffler,
sister-in-law of the groom, was
matron of honour and the
bride's sisters, Misses Nancy and
Barbara Daniells were
bridesmaids. The matron of
honour and the bridesmaids
were identically gowned in capri
blue sheath dresses of chiffon
over taffeta with the empire
waist defined' by guipure lace. A
matching lace yoke held
floor-length panels of, chiffon
which fell softly over the
shoulders. They wore rainbow
tinted carnation headpieces and .
carried matching cascade
bouquets.
Dennis Steffler, the groom's
brother, was groomsman and
Ronald Steffler and Barry
Steffler, also brothers of the
groom, were the ushers.
For her daughter's wedding
Mrs. Daniells chose a sea-green
Italian silk dress with black lace
coat white and black accessories
and a corsage of . white
carnations. The groom's mother
wore a rose brocade dress with
navy accessories and a matching
pink carnation corsage.
Lynda was honoured to have
her great-grandmother, Mrs.
Mary Campbell, Clinton, attend

Bridgeport, the young couple
left on a wedding trip to
Northern Ontario. The bride
travelled in a white wool suit
with peacock blue accessories
and an orchid corsage. They will
reside at 46 Edmund street,
Kitchener on their return.
