Yesterday, Mr. MacNaughton issued the following statement: "The Ontario Development Corporation will provide a $250,000 forgivable loan to a Huron County firm which is expanding its manufacture of window components for Ontario's 'house construction industry. "Acting Trade and Development Minister Charles S. MacNaughton said the ODC loan will support Dashwood Industries Limited in its construction of a 200,000 square foot plant in Stephen Township, near Centralia. "This company has experienced several years of rapid growth in the manufacture and sale of pre-fit wood sash and frames," said Mr. MacNaughton. "It anticipates a further four-fold increase in sales as a result of a new four-year expansion program." "The new plant will create 20 new jobs initially, with a further increase of •44 jobs by 1972. Present employment by the company totals 160. "The expansion of Dashwood Industries Limited is an outstanding example of enterprise by a small-town indnstry' in Ontario," - 'Mr. MacNaughton 'stated: - "By- a carefully-planned program of specialization and market penetration, it has transformed what was once a local lumber mill operation into a successful manufacturing company which is making a significant contribution toward the alleviation of Ontario's housing and construction needs.'.' "The Ontario Government is pleased to assist its continued expansion through our Equalization of Industrial Opportunity Program." "The new plant is already under construction and is expected to be completed by December." Members of Clinton Town Council today indicated they would welcome similar interest in the industrial development of their community.
