Several Clinton and area
youths returned August 17 from
a six week Cadet Leader Course
at Camp Ipperwash The group,
sponsored by Central Huron
Secondary School, were trained
in field craft, rifle practice,
t drilling procedure, first aid and
swimming.
Attending the camp were

Stephen Currie, Peter Duoma,
David Anstett, Fred Delong,
Jeffery Falconer, David
Goodine, Keith Harkes, Digby
Howse, Ian Hulley, Robert
Langille, John MacDonald, Gary

Frank Newland,, Michael Paulin,
Richard Paulin, James Russell,
David Slade, and William Young.

Currie and Mark Freeman were
security guards,
Another Clinton youth,
Norman Bell, spent two weeks
earlier this summer taking a
"Sergeant's Course" at Shilo,
Manitoba. The Royal Canadian
School of Artillery at Shilo is
the only school of its kind in
Canada. Eighteen cadets from
Canada attended the course.
Norman was sponsored by 21st
Field Regiment in Wingham,

class bourses which will be
available at the University of
Waterloo this year, according to
the just-off-the-press 1968-69
calendar of the university's
extension department.
The new calendar lists
non-credit courses offered by
the extension department,
courses for degree credit
available through the faculties Of
arts and mathematics and
diploma and certificate courses
of the Canadian Industrial
Management Association and
Society of Industrial
Accountants.
Calendars are available by
writing or calling (744-611) the
Department of University
Extension, University of
Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario.
Upwards of 2,000 people
throughout mid-western Ontario
attend evening classes at the
University of Waterloo each
year.
This year's offerings include
more than 60 courses which
carry credit toward a university
degree. The courses are in
Anthropology, Computer
Mathematics, Economics,
English, French, German,
Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian,
Fine Art, Geography, History,
Philosophy, Planning, Political
Science and Sociology.
Non-credit courses cover a
wide variety of subjects related
to business, industry, general
interests humanities, physical
sciences and social sciences.
