'who will be entering grade at South Huron District High School, Exeter, this fall, left Saturday for a 12 day trip to Calgary and other points in. the Canadian West with a group of young voyagers, Miss Noakes will be the guest ,of an Alberta family and will take part in a full agenda of travelling and sightseeing while there. D.D., c onducted the service in St. Faill's Anglican Church Sunday morning with the theme of the sermon, "History of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Hensall. Flowers were in memory of Mrs, Stewart Mequeen and Mrs. R. H. Middleton, placed by relatives. Mrs. Ed Munn and daughter, Mrs. Don Gooding; and family, Parkhill, have returned from a two-week vacation spent at Schade View. Mrs. Arthur McCallum, Larry, Barry and Robert of Woodham, Mrs. Pearl Koehler, Lynda and Keith, are holidaying this week at Huntsville, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Koehler. Obituary MRS. STEWART McQUEEN Mrs. Stewart McQueen a highly respected citizen and life long resident of Hensall and district passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, Tuesday. August 13. The former Grace McArthur she was in her 81st year. The late Mrs. McQueen was a member of Cannel Presbyterian Church, and a life member of 'the Women's Missionary Society, and a member of Hensall Women's Institute. Surviving are her husband, two daughters (Margaret) Mrs. Don Rigey, Blenheim; (Jean) Mts. Harry Snell, R.R. 1 Hensall, three sisters, Mrs. Jean Manson Exeter, Mrs. J. D. (Nellie) Reid, London Mrs. Jessie Lamont, Zurich, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One daughter, Helen predeceased her in 1959: Public funeral services were held from Bonthrom Funeral Home, Hensall, Friday, August 16th conducted by Rev. J. C. Boyne, who paid .fitting tribute to her life. Interment was in McTaggarts cemetery. Pallbearers were Earl Campbell, Stanley Mitchell, Gerald Glenn . Melvin Glanville, Ed Munn, Bert Horton. The moderately temperatured, bright sunny days were excellent for the harvest of these crops. • The barley crop has been yielding very well and the grain is of good quality. Oats and mixed . grains have been fairly good but yield and cutting conditions have been hampered by severe lodging. The corn crop in most areas of the County is progressing very well and expected yields look good. Some areas of the County report white bean crops somewhat better than other areas. They wore matching bow head pieces and carried baskets of'white and yellow gladioli. Ken Reichert, R.R. 2, Hensall, was bestman. Usher was Michael Soldan brother .of the groom. For a wedding reception in Centralia United Church parlours, the bride's mother chose a silk eggshell ensemble with deeper tones in trim and dress of skimmer line. She wore a deep turquoise mohair hat, bone shoes, and a corsage of bronze mums and yellow roses. The groom's mother selected a pale turquoise blue shantung sheath with matching jacket hat and shoes, and a corsage of white mums and pink roses. For a wedding trip to the Southern United States, the bride changed to a mint green brocade ensemble with sleeveless skimmer dress buttercup hat, beige accessories and a corsage of bronze rums and yellow roses. The groom is principal at J. A. D. McCurdy School, Huron Park, and the bride will be vice principal at Stephen Central School. Crediton. • The bride was feted at several functions prior to marriage. Her mother, Mrs, Ralph, Lightfoot, entertained at a trousseau tea at her home in honour of her daughter. Mrs. Bill Radar was hostess for a surprise miscellaneous shower at her home near Dashwood. Mrs. Lorne Kleinstiver and Mrs. T. H. Hoffman entertained in honour of Sharon at an afternoon , teagt: for the staff of Stephen Central School and associate friends at the home of Mrs. Kleinstiver in Dashwood.
