Given in marriage by her
father, the bride looked lovely in
a floor length gown fashioned
from French Chantilly lace and
Imported silk Legoda. The for-
mal wedding gown featured lily.
point sleeves, shallow scoop
neckline and semi empire
bodice trimmed with a lover's
knot bow at center front from
which fell an A-line panel in
Legoda, while the Chantilly lace
created a coat effect. Back in-
terest was centered on the
gathered lace chapel train cas-
cading from the shoulders and
trimmed with tiny buttons down
the center back. A lily of the
valley floral head-piece held
the bouffant elbow length bridal
veil. The bride carried deep
red roses with ivy entwined.

bride, was Matron of Honour,
wearing an aqua-green lace.

man Snyder, Whitby, and Mrs.
Martin Dieleman, Poplar Hill,
wore gowns similar to that of
the matron of honour.
Miss Marian Snyder, flower-
girl, wore a floor-length dress
of coral satin-backed crepe, the
sleeves of which were trimmed
with small white daisies, Her
flowers were daisies and Baby's
Breath.
The groom was attended by
Mr, Simon Nagel, Holland;
Michigan as best man, with
groomsmen, Mr. Martin Wilts
and Mr. Gerrit Wilts. The
guests were ushered by Mr.
Joe Dieleman and Mr, Henry
Wilts.
Following the ceremony, a
reception was held inthe church
parlours• which were decorated

The groom who is a graduate
of Hope College, Holland,
Michigan, and now attending
Western Theological Seminary,
Holland, Michigan, will serve
the First Reformed Church,
Harriston, Ontario as a student •
pastor for the summer months,
after which he and Mrs. Wilts
will return to Western Seminary
to complete studies.
Miss Marlene Hawgood, having
trained in Victoria General
Hospital, Halifax, has been suc-
cessful in passing her R. N.
exams. She attained the highest
rank in Nova Scotia in the Feb.
ruary writing. Marlene is work•
ing in Seaforth Hospital until
September when she returns
to Dalhousie University, Hall.

ponsibilities of the society's
district nurses.

Londesboro, graduated from
University of Waterloo at the
Spring convocation, receiving
a Bachelor of Mathematics de-
gree. ,She has aceepted, a
teaching position with Central
Peel Secondary School in
Brampton. She is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Don
Buchanan, H.R. 1, Londesboro,
W. Douglas Wells, son of Mr.
and Mrs. William D. Wells,
Clinton, graduated from Water.

Prior to the marriage, the
bride was honoured at showers
given by Mrs. Glen Carter, Lon.
desboro, Mrs. Ken MacDougal,
Auburn, Mrs. Gerald Barker,
London, and the staff of the
Bell Telephone Company in Lon-
don. A trousseau tea was held
by the bride's mother on

Londesboro United Church
was the scene of a pretty spring
wedding Saturday, May 4, when
Rev. Robert Tschanz united in
marriage Ruth Louise Adams,
and Gordon John Barker, in a
double ring ceremony.
The bride is the only daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Adams,
Londesboro and the groom is
the youngest son of Mr. and
Mrs, Wilford Barker, London.

UCW work
The evening unit of Ontario
Street United Church met in
the church Parlour. The de-
votions were in charge of Lois
Elliott, hymn No. 356 was sung.
Helen Aiken read the scripture
lesson,Pearl McClinchey gave
a reaing and Lois Elliott led
in prayer having repeated in
unison after each verse, "Use
my hands Lord", Hymn 388
was sung-'`at the close of the
devotions,
Marion Cole lough gave a talk.

has done for them. She is now

Colclough played a couple of
numbers on her electric guitar
Miss Shirley Maines was opr
speaker for the evening; she hhd
been to Westminster College
for the weekend, She had spoken
of the high lights of the UCW
work and of the different dis-
cussion groups.
The usual business followed.
The shuffle board club
donated 3 new tea pots and a
large pitcher. The June meeting
will be held at Dorothy Pickett
cottage.
The meeting closed with
prayer •and lunch was served
by group 3.
