who went on a crime spree
through Clinton, Goderich, and
surrounding communities faced
101 cherges in Hamilton city
court last week,
John Riha pleaded guilty to
eharges of fraud, forgery, ut-
tering, false pretences, and
bigamy.
It took 90 minutes, less a
couple of short recesses, to
read the charges.
Other offences oecurred. in
Brantford, Exeter, Bramptpn,
Wallaceburg, St. Thomas,
Delhi, Leamington, Kitchener,
Dundas, Guelph, Listowel, Sar.
nia, Stratford, Waterloo,. Galt,
Woodstoek, Preeton, Ancaster,

secret ingredient Sunday as
Windsor's No. 10 air cadet
squadron walked off with the
aggregate Clinton trophy.
They earned it by winning
three of five events held ,at
CFB Clinton and came close in
the other two, Their most im-.
pressive victory in the drill
competition earned them a place
in the provincial finals in
Toronto in June.
The Windsor cadets also won
the volleyball and basketball
competitions.
Bowling was won by 296
squadron, while 294 Chatham
took the rifle competition. No
741 St. Thomas came second
in the prestigious drill com-
petition with No. 2'7 London tak-
ing third place.
In all 450 cadets from 14
squadrons competed. Winning
Windsor tallied 179 of a pos.
sible 200 drill points with St.
Thomas getting 170 and London
165.
Gault finished second over.

The teams were from Exeter
London, Windsor, Sarnia,
Chatham, Blenheim, Learning.

John Edgar Armstrong, age
76, 108 Rattehbury Street, West,
died Thursday April 4 at Clin-
ton Public Hospital,
He was born April 6, 1892
in Stanley Township to John
and Ellen Armstrong.
Mr. Armstrong is predeceas-
ed by his wife, the former

Funeral Home with interment
in Clinton Cemetery.

South Huron Hospital, Exeter,
on Monday, April 8, Mrs. Wil-
liam Chapman, Huronview,
formerly of Seaforth. Mrs.
Chapman, the former Selina Wil-
son, was in her 89th year. The
funeral service was Wednesday,
April 10 from Bonthron Funeral
Home, Hensall, with interment
in Maitland Bank Cemetery, Sea-
forth.
