The Clinton fire department, along with four others from sur. rounding districts was called out Saturday night to help con. trol a blaze which destroyed 7,000 chicks and did $25,000 damage to a Kippen, Ontario barn. The Clinton department was called when the fire appeared to be getting out of control and was threatening surround., ing buildings. The Clinton brie gale arrived about 9 p.m, 11/2 hours after the fire started, and remained until midnight. Fire departments from, Brucefield, Hensall, Exeter, and Seaforth also battled the stubborn fire. Heavy snow and high winds hampered efforts to contain the flames in the poultry barn, own. ed .by Elzar Mousseau. The home of Vivian Cooper, a short .distance from the two.storey Mousseau barn, was saved. Mr. Mousseau was overcome by smoke when he tried to enter the barn with a portable fire extinguisher. He said the loss was partially covered by in. surance. He did not know if he would rebuild. Whin you''ro ready to no t11.7. doy . see the beautiful RAINBOV ilWEDDING LINE!!
