Listowel boys bomb locals Listowel bombed,Clinton Pee Wees 9-2 to win the playoff series. After two periods of well. played hockey, the Clinton boys spent too much time in the penalty box in the third. Until then, the score was 3-2 for Listowel. But the pen. alties proved costly, because Listowel scored six goals in the last period, four of them while Clinton served four successive penalties. Clinton's first goal was scored by Brian Jewitt from Brian Kennedy and Raymond Burns. Brian Jewitt played well for his first game since having his appendix removed. Robbie Stirling put in a sizzling slap shot on a power play to finish the Clinton scoring. Clina ton and Goderich juniors have won six and lost two. Senior squads for Clinton and God. erich have lost one game each in the eight games played. Friday the GDCI Vikings travel to Stratford to play their last game of the Huron-Perth Conference against Stratford Central. KIPPEN Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tor- rance and three children of Porter's Hill visited Sunday with the former's mother, and Aunt,Miss Jean Ivison, * * * Norman Long was admitted to Seaforth Community Hospital on Saturday and transferred Monday to Stratford General Hospital. In action Feb. 5 at Listowel, the locals mauled their oppo. nents 6-2, with Bill Stirling the big gun, scoring two goals and assisting on three more. Stew Mustard, Rick Poulin and Bob Bangille scored singles for Clinton. A 6.3 win February '7 put the Clinton team two games up. Two goals each by Bob Lan. gille and Stew Mustard had the locals ahead 4-0 by 2:43 of the third period. Then Listowel finally beat McFarland at 6:42 of the third, A couple of beautiful solo efforts by Stew Mustard and Rick Paulin within 30 seconds, of each other made the score 6-1. • Listowel bounced back for two more before the game ended. Clinton Midgets continued to show great scoring power in the third game, downing Listowel 7-1. Playing without their high. scoring centre, Stew Mustard, the Midgets were paced by Bill Stirling and Glen Irwin, who each scored two goals. Other tallies came from Bob Lmigille, John McPherson and Greg Burns. A strong defence with good goal tending by Gary McFar. line plus scoring power, featured the Midgets' play. Clinton's first power-play opportunity proved fruitful when a booming slap shot from the point by Ted Leather found the net. Leather's shooting gave Ar. merit, Listowel's net minder, nightmares all evening, Listowel's little line scored another picture goal on a play set up by fast-skating Rick Town. The out-of-towners had a, golden opportunity to score in the dying minutes of the second but David Slade made a specta. cular save to keep the puck out.
