PERSONALS Mr. ,and Mrs. Ken Mackie left on Saturday for a vacation in Florida. * * * Mr. and Mrs, Paul Moss of London were weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Fred LeB eau. * * * Mr. and Mrs. J. Beechie and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Chapman and family of London, were at their homes in the village during the weekend. * * Elwood Mitchell is home after undergoing ear surgery in St. Joseph's Hospital, Lon. don, last Wednesday. * * * The 3 IVI Club of the Bay. field United Church will hold a family tobogganing party at Tyndall's hill on January 21' at 2.30 p.m. Ladies are ask. ed to bring a hot casserole to the church for supper at 4.30 p.m. All interested per. sons are invited. Trinity Hold - Meeting The annual meeting of the Trinity Church Ladies' Guild was held at the home of Mrs. Harold Weston on the after. noon of January 9. The meeting was presided over by the vice-president; Mrs. Percy Weston. and was opened by the rector with pray. er and bible reading. A.A.A.9., ok,•, The secretary's report was read and approved. Mrs. L. B. Smith, treasurer., read her annual report. showing a very good balance after havingpaid a number of donations to the church. The Guild for 1967 con- sisted of 13 members. Rev. E.J.B. Harrison read a letter from the president, Mrs. Fred Arkell, thanking members for their help and co-operation dur- ing her term of office and re- gretted that because she would be away on a visit for several months, she would be unable to hold an office for 1968. Rev. Harrison provided for the elect- ion of officers for 1968, and appointed Mrs. H. Weston and Mrs. F. Weston as scrutineers. The slate of officers for 1968 is as follows: Honorary President, Mrs. Percy Weston. President, Mrs. L. B. Sniith. first vice presid. ent, Mrs. W.E. Parker; second vice president, Mrs. it, Roy Fitzsimons; secretary, Mrs.' Lloyd Scotchmer; treasurer, Mrs. Merton Merner; Memorial and card secretary, Mrs. P. Weston; visiting committee, Mrs. R. J. Larson and Mrs. Fred Weston. The Rector closed the meet. ing and a delicious lunch was served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. P. Weston. Euchre Begins The Anglican Church Women of St. James Church held the lirst of a series of winter card parties last Friday evening in the Goderich Township Hall, Holmesville. The president, Mrs. Edward Wise welcomed those present. Euchre was the order of the evening and there were II tables in play. The ladies' high prize was won by Mrs. Elmer Treck. ladies low by Mrs. Dean Ald. winkle. The men's high prize men's low by Paul Middleton. A 'travelling prize for each lone hand added interest to the evening and was won, finally by Mrs. Der tRowden. The prize for the most lone hands was won by Mr. Howard Currie. A bounteous lunch was served. The ladies are planning a second party to be held Friday evening January 26, in the town. ship hall.
