Earl Haberer was engaged to repair several spots in the tiled portion of the Schwalm drain and replace any broken tile. By-law on the Datars drain was passed. Only one late appeal was received for the Court of Revision. It was not upheld. S. AV. Archibald, O.L.S., was paid $230 for survey plans and re­ ports on the Datars drain. Application was made to the Ontario government for the sub­ sidy of one-third of the cost of the municipal expenditure on the Mousseau and Datars drain. News Budget From Brinsley By MRS; L. CRAVEN Personal Items Brinsley United Church held their Christmas service last Sun­ day with a good attendance. The pastor, Rev. W. C. Parrott de­ livered a fine address and there was special music by the choir. A Christmas concert was held in Brinsley United Church on Thursday evening, December 18 sponsored by Mrs. Wesley Wat­ son, teacher of School Section No. 4 McGillivray and her pupils, and Miss Hewitt, teacher of School Section No. 6 with her pupils.The parents- of the children filled the basement for the pro­ gram provided by the children. Santa Claus unloaded the tree which was laden with presents. The pastor of the church, Rev. W. C. Parrott, was chairman. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Amos and family, of Brantford, spent the weekend with the former’s aunt Miss Mary B. Amos. Mr. and Mrs. David Morley left on a motor trip to the South­ ern States. iMr. and Mrs. Harvey Morley spent Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hodgson. - Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Robinson (nee Grace Morley) on the birth of a daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fleece, of Dearborn, Mich., spent a few days with their aunt, Mrs. Ruth W atson.Mr. Jimmie Chambers, Ailsa Craig, spent Sunday with his aunt, Mrs. Beatrice Dixon. Mrs. Ruth Watson, Donald and Bobbie, dined with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Taylor, of Exeter, on Sunday evening. Pupils of S.S. No. 6 presented their teacher, Miss Hewitt, with a comb, brush and mirror set. Mrs. Wesley Watson’s pupils, of S.S. No. 4, presented her with an electric clock. The presentations were made at the United Ghurch. John Edward Faulder John Edward Faulder, 67, died at his late residence on lot 3, con. 10, McGillivray township, where he was born and Resided all his life. Funeral service was held from his late residence to St. Mary’s , Anglican Church, Brinsley, With the rector, Rev. G. E. .Parker, officiating. Interment was in the. adjoin­ ing cemetery. Graveside service was under the auspices bf L.O.L. 1343, Crediton, of which he was County Master foi' South Huron for three years. 1-Ie was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church and a Warden for many years. The late Mr. Faulder was the only son of the late James Faulder and Mary Morgan, and was married in Lobo township in. 1910 to Alvina Wilson. Surviving besides his Wife are one son, Alvin, Stephen town- ship; two daughters (Evelyn), Mrs. Joseph Flynn, Hensail, and (Lillian) Mrs, Roy Allison, of Toronto, also slit grandchildren. The pallbearers were Herman Powe, Exeter; Elmer Webster, Varna; J. H. Paton, Clandeboye; Amos Wright, Centralia; Clar­ ence ShOldlce, Ailsa Craig, and Karl Pickering, Ailsa Craig. The Mttrdy Funeral Home, Lucan, conducted the funeral and friends attended from To­ ronto, Wheatley, Hensall and ExOter, Yule Services At Crediton Christmas Service Christmas service was held in the United Church Sunday morn­ ing. Special Christmas message was given by Rev, W. C, Parrott and appropriate music was ren­ dered by the choir. Baskets of flowers adorned the rostrum. A basket of mums was placed, in memory of Mrs. Martha Wilson, who passed away last week. Sunday School Concert The Sunday School entertain­ ment presented by the pupils on Tuesday evening was well at­ tended. Choruses, exercises and recitations given by the younger scholars were well rendered. In the closing feature, "Let us adore Him,” many adults took part and carols were sung by the choir. Miss Rosalie Mack was reader. Rev, Parrott was chair* man. Present Cantata The Christmas program pre­ sented in the Evangelical U.B. Church on Sunday evening was presided over by Sunday School superintendent, Mr, Ray Mor- loclc. The many recitations given by the beginners and younger pupils were enjoyed as were the solos, pantomine and playlet. White gifts were presented by representatives of the different classes-. The closing cantata, "The Lost Carol” was presented by members of the senior classes when many carols were sung by the choir. Rev. Dahms played an important part in the cantata and offered prayer and benedic­ tion. Gaiser-Morlock Wedding A quiet but pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. Ray Morlock when Mrs. Adeline Morlock, of Crediton, and Mr. Albert Gaiser, of Shipka, were united in marriage by Rev. J. V. Dahms. Upon return from their honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Gaiser have taken up residence in Shipka. Theii’ many friends in Crediton extend good wishes. Sunday visitors with Mr, and Mrs. H. F. Younger were Mr. and Mrs. R. Berry, Mr. and Mrs. C. Harris and Susan, of London, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lamport and family. (Rev. and Mrs. J. V. Dahms and Daniel are spending the Christmas holiday with Rev. and Mrs. N. B. Dahms, Lis- towel. Mrs. E. Hey, of Zurich, and Mrs. M. Hooper, of London, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hey.Dr., Li&a Gaiser, of Boston, is spending some time with her father, Mr. William Gaiser Sr. Mr. Elgin Woodall, of Royal Oak, Mich., visited over the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Woodall. Mrs. M. Faist is visiting this week in St. Thomas. Miss Ella Morlock, of Hamil­ ton, is spending the holidays at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Morlock. Mr. Clayton Sims, who under­ went a major operation in St. Joseph’s Hospital last week, is much improved. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Finkbeiner on the arrival of a son. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ryall of London spent the weekend with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Swartz. The "flying fox” is actually a bat. Montezuma was the last Aztec emperor of Mexico.
